From this one report, seems Cole makes Smackdown listenable for JR, but Styles can't stand it:

Meanwhile, Chris Jericho says the difference between JR and Cole "Is the difference between Paul Newman and Pauly Shore:

Wow, that will be the greatest card ever once you complete your time machine and take the trip back to 1985 :D

And my goodness, Jake Roberts is still wrestling? :/ I realize you never say never for this industry, and Ric Flair is still out there, but Jake is... well, he's always in really bad shape.

I find it funny that Buddy Landell is considered a WWF legend. I think he went to two TV tapings and that was it.

And Adrian Street will be turning 70 years old on December 5 (thanks, Wikipedia). How is he a champion (Unless he's also the promoter?).

Scott McGhee was primarily a jobber in WWF. He's facing "One Punch" Brody. I have a feeling that match will be pretty short.

I appreciate how "Honky Tonk" is in quotes, leading us to believe that it's a nickname and his actual name is just Man. Couldn't be worse than what he was doing a couple of weeks ago -- refereeing a jello wrestling match at a strip club in my neighborhood.

  6. Just listening to some of the stuff from Cole on Monday night . . . when he first started railign on King and JR, I actually thought he was doing well, then he started going on and on saying the same stuff over and over, it got annoying. Good heel announcers are entertaining, but never annoying. Once you start thinking, will you just stop, it isn't working anymore. And I too thought the heel stuff came overnight, which I never understood.

You sure he wasn't just there hanging out?
Would've been cool if he turned heel on one of the strippers and smashed her with a guitar during a dance routine.

With the rest of that NWA card...
    1) I'm glad to see we're finally getting some resolution to the Beefcake-Valentine tag team breakup angle. I've been waiting 25 years for that blow-off match.
    2) It's great that they still refer to them as "midgets."
    3) Having Paul Bearer manage the Beefcake-Roberts-Bushwacker Luke team is awesome. Maybe he can bring Undertaker's urn with him and resurrect their careers.
    4) Is "The Great Kaiser" the German cousin of The Great Khali?

It wouldn't surprise me if they put DiBiase over Bryan for some (terrible) reason.

I agree. I think DiBiase is going over.

So, I've been MIA here for about three weeks now. The wife and I fell behind on shows and, believe it or not, this whole Cena-Orton-Barrett thing isn't keeping us as interested as I thought it would. At least not to the point where I'm looking forward to the shows.

Anyway, I just caught up (Largely by skipping Smackdown). Here are my thoughts about this PPV:

    * Apart from the Barrett-Cena match, there isn't a single bout here that I'd be enticed to buy the PPV over. I couldn't care less about Kane vs. Edge, mostly because I haven't been interested in Kane in, oh, about 10 years. While I'm interested in watching Morrison-Sheamus, I think the build up couldn't have been worse. And Bryan vs. Dibiase? You couldn't have began building this up three weeks ago? Did we really need the whole Goldust thing?

    * For my money, I say Cena turns heel. I just hope that if they do it, they don't pussy out and have Cena screw Orton, beat Barrett's ass and Miz cashes in, thereby making Cena less than the ultimate heel he's going to need to be if they turn him.

    * One last note: Old School RAW, while awesome, really shows how much this product has changed in the past decade or so. And as much as I liked seeing some of the vintage (VINTAGE!) things like the old school set design, old music and older characters, I can legitimately say I prefer the changes that have been made to the former show.

This is Survivor Series. This is the pay per view where screw jobs happen. If WWE had any sense of wanting to keep fans honest and on their toes, John Cena will turn heel tonight and help Wade Barrett win the WWE title, willingly. If Cena does turn full heel, tomorrow's Raw will be even more interesting than when Hogan turned in WCW.
