I wasn't a fan of that finish between Lawler and Miz. Lawler basically beat him. Would've been a good chance to make the Miz look dominant or, failing that, at least put him over clean and build him up a bit as a credible champion. Instead, they seem to be going down the road of him scoring a series of fluke victories -- even going as far as having Lawler call Miz's clean win over Orton that -- and making him weak rather than vulnerable. When Michael Cole saves your ass, there's no way to avoid looking like a pussy.
If they wanted to show Miz as a vulnerable champion, they could've given him a clean and decisive win over Lawler and then have Orton come out for a surprise RKO.

And an announcer feud? Yay. Can't wait.

 

How much plastic surgery has Lawler done over the years?

I didn't even recognize him.

Anyone surprised how much of a face leaning tweener Punk has been on commentary?

 

Yes and no. It's a little odd having Punk (I would presume) just be himself, but they kind of need him to be a face-leaning tweener to counter Cole's all-out (and annoying as fuck) heeldom.

Also, quite a few Easter Eggs in Punk's commentary. My favorites were his claim of winning a KOTR tournament in Rio, and his comment that Cody Rhodes and Pat Patterson "have a lot in common."

 

I liked the part where Punk said, "I'm a wrestler," and Cole responded, "No you're not. You're a sports entertainer."

Punk has been funny as hell. I wonder if Stryker got fired, or is being punished for his mistake on Cena in the last PPV.

 

Punk with the Beaver Cleaver hairdo was a funny touch as well.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the most hilarious quote from CM Punk on Raw last Monday.

"King Kofi Kingston! As a nice ring to it. The initials, not so much."

Now that's definitely not PG. LOL.

The references about Mysterio stealing cars was brilliant, too.

I'm loving CM Punk has the announcer, he's 100x better then Michael Cole is.

 

Yea, I remember reading on here that he was fired because of the mistake, stumbled across smackdown and there he was. Funny, it wasn't too long ago on here that people loved Stryker's commentary. What happened?

 

I agree. I lol'ed at this.

 

That and the "translation" on what the Spanish ring announcer was saying, and he mentioned that he said "C.M. Punk" somewhere in there.

"I don't know Spanish, but I know he didn't say 'C.M. Punk' right there."
"Yeah he did. He said it in Spanish."

Laughed at that, Mysterio stealing cars and a lot of other one-liners. He's been great on the mic.
