The AP sports features digest for this weekend has a story on the Miz listed.

 

Awesome.

 

MVP always seemed like he had terrific potential as a heel, and they screwed him up by turning him babyface.

They should have just turned him back heel and seen if he could get over again. Nope.

 

I'd say this is the first title change in a LONG time that has gotten people legitimately excited. People seem to either think this is great or hate The Miz and can't wait to see him lose. He's getting some mainstream pub via the MTV connection. The amount of attention it's getting inside and outside the industry, as what's really a run of the mill title change in the grand scheme of things, is amazing.
Cena may have been a polarizing champ to fans, at times, but this is the first time I can remember this level of buzz about a championship run since ... well ... maybe David Arquette?

 

Hey, it's Cleveland winning a sports title. I'm surprised they didn't issue a bulletin when he cashed in the MITB and a flash when he won.

 

Just finished it. Miz seems like a real hard worker and a very down to earth guy. And a person who has a hell of a lot of respect for the company and his craft.

Got a story to share with you guys.

Met a few WWE folks today.

As we were coming back from a maintenance meeting (we have boring meetings twice each day to figure out how to get helicopters repaired. think of them like news budget meetings) this morning, I saw this freaking huge guy who looked vaguely familiar. My mind was somewhere else, so I just thought to myself, "That's a big sonofabitch." There were lots of vans around the flag pole where VIPs get picked up to be ferried around the battlespace, but that's an everyday thing because we fly them all, so I didn't think much of it.

Then, I saw these two smoking hot chicks in skimpy clothes and high-heel boots with huge fake boobs and knew something was up. As soon as I got out of the van, all my medics and crew chiefs were grinning like jackasses eating briars, iPhones in hand.

It was The Big Show, Vince McMahon, Kelly Kelly (I think) and Michelle Somethingorother (maybe?).

So, I walked over and asked the big guy for a photo, then got one with the two hotties (duh!).

As I was walking back, "MO," one of my medics about whom I've talked on the other thread, walks by and tells me, "Watch this shit, sir."

He walks straight up to the one with the biggest hooters and says, "Hey. You girls want to come over to the MEDEVAC? It's where all the cool people hang out." She looked him dead in the eye (and I'm 10 feet away, mind you) and says, "Hell, yeah," and starts walking. (Take that, Apache pilots.)

So, we took them all over to one of my birds, and they signed it, took various photos, etc. The girls asked me to let them sit up front and tell them "what all the buttons do." So, I obliged 8) and we had a good time. Someone snapped a picture of us in the helicopter. You can guess what the most prominent part of the picture is.

I later joked, "For once, I wasn't the biggest boob in the picture," and everyone got a huge laugh.

Fun day. Certainly broke up the monotony for an hour, or so. I have a few pictures up on FB, if we're friends there. If not, hit me up.

 

Awesome. The other woman must be Michelle McCool (the Undertaker's new wife). Are you going to the show they put on?

 

I haven't read th AP article, so my apologies if I'm repeating already known, but I saw something yesterday about The Miz being on the front cover of the WWE's latest video game and how that may have been a clue about his championship.

But the source in the story said there was no relation between the two and the WWE gave him that spot because very few guys would have been up for the media tour that went along with it. Miz, however, is both a great interview and had no problem putting in the work with the media.

The more I see him, hear from him, the more I like seeing him as a main eventer.
