He'd been doing OK in the midcard role on Smackdown and had gotten a win with Kofi in a tag match. Interesting move, and I'm sure at some point, we'll hear the reasons why.

They must be really hung up on Kaval's small stature. Any time the guy wasn't getting squashed, he put on a tremendous match. WWE is driving me nuts with the "have a guy win a title (or NXT), and bury him."

Swagger and Kaval jobbed a LOT. Dolph and Daniel Bryan have had their fair share of losses. The Miz needed the help of two outsiders to defeat a 60 year old Jerry Lawler. Sheamus wins KOTR and then loses a #1 contenders match to Morrison.

Didn't the KOTR winner used to always get a title shot? Not sure why they've strayed from that with this run of tournaments.

No. But the KOTR winner usually got a push into the world title picture. It was never a guarantee, though.

A couple of the web sites are reporting the WWE crew had trouble making it to MSG and tonight's Raw due to the blizzard.

Could be an interesting show, to say the least. Maybe Vince will wake up from his coma and come back to step in the ring with Trips, if no one else can make it.

Actually went - a xmas present to my favorite nephew.

Seemed like all wrestlers accounted for - feature matches went off -Cena / Barrett in steel
cage match and the miz vs randy orton.

Seemed like only wrestler MIA was SGT Slaughter who was suppose to do a special Piper's Pit with Rowdy

    Tonight's Raw was taped?

No, it's live tonight. But they had a house show at MSG yesterday.

PWI Insider had the Garden crowd at around 12,000, due to the storm. They also said that the crowd was quieter than normal, and the show itself didn't have quite the usual Garden energy. They also reported a few minor no-shows: Sgt. Slaughter (for a Piper's Pit, Tito Santana subbed), Heath Slater of Nexus, Alicia Fox and Gail Kim.

CM Punk is the new leader of Nexus to end tonight's Raw.

He threatened to call out Cena at the start of the show. Cena came out at the end to respond. Nexus (except Wade Barrett) came out. David Otunga took the mic, claimed Nexus was under new management and offered Cena a truce. Cena declined, Nexus retreated, then turned back and attacked Cena before leaving. Slater dropped a Nexus armband in front of Cena's body. Punk hit the ring, then dropped Cena with a sloppy GTS. Punk teased hitting Cena with a chair, but instead sat in it, picked up the armband, then put it on his arm. He stood and did the raised fist salute to Nexus, which responded in kind.
