RIP Baron Scicluna. No, not HIM.

He was a two-time tag team champion with King Curtis Iaukea and Smasher Sloan. No, not HIM. I think.

I remember him as the guy wrestling Gorilla Monsoon at a TV taping when Muhammad Ali, who was a spectator, came out of the crowd and challenged Monsoon. Ali was rewarded with an airplane spin and a fall to the mat.

    Remember it well.

The Baron (no, not THAT Baron) was where I learned where the "Isle of Malta" is. I still think of him when I see it on a World Atlas.

Reports of my death have been extremely exaggerated.

RIP to the inspiration for my name. I picked it because the actual Baron had a reputation for being rather hokey in his in-ring work. Originally, I was going to pick Mrrrr. Kennedy! (Kennedy!). But this was right around when Mr. K got busted for the wellness policy, and I didn't think it was right to take the name of an alleged drug user.

My one memory of the actual Baron, who wrestled before I started watching it, was that aformentioned brief encounter with Monsoon, and Ali. I remember watching that on a Coliseum Video tape and thinking why did they even bother to have the Baron work that match.

Big swerve at the TNA pay-per-view (since you guys pointed out that was on tonight):

Kevin Nash turned on Eric Young to join Scott Hall and X-Pac.

    One great jobber?

He was in main events. He headlined Madison Square Garden against Sammartino. That's not being a jobber.

    Show some respect.

You're right in that respect. I was thinking more of the end of his career, when essentially, he was a jobber.

S.D. Jones main-evented in tag matches with Andre the Giant. Yet, I'm sure most people would think of him as a jobber.

    Meant no disrespect.

EDIT: There, I changed it. Happy?

It's always a shame when tag team champions have a disagreement. So which one turns heel?

Hmm, I believe I forsaw something like this happening. In fact ....

Yeap, there it is. Not bad. I'm only predicting TNA's big twists a week and a half early. Way to be different Dixie. :)

WWE opens with Pete Rose and HBK
TNA opens with Jarrett finally clocking the holy hell out of Bischoff.

    Strong start for TNA.
