What did he say while walking away?

I thought something like "This wont' be for just three weeks."

    THAT WAS AWESOME!!

And I'm not talking about The Miz, or Mike Awesome either.

Would have been very hard to top last year's match. They managed to do it.

It was hard to hear, but that's what I think he said.

I thought he said something about his kids, but I certainly could be wrong. I was kinda surprised HHH didn't come out at the end to hug him. But me thinks RAW will be an all out retirement party tomorrow night.

I thought he said "Tell my kids ... something something."

I didn't watch WM until this match. How was the rest of the event?

And, yes, that was a fucking awesome match.

I think last year's match was better, just because there was a bit more uncertainty right up until the end. This one was damned fine, though. Definitely match of the night, maybe match of the year.

I believe he said "My kids are going to be tired of me in three weeks" with a grin on his face. Very touching moment ... he might be done for real.

I think it could be real. He doesn't seem like the type of guy who would hold on forever like Flair. We know he has other interest outside of wrestling. Can't blame a guy for wanting to be able to walk away from the ring with his body still mostly intact.

The only thing that I really liked better from last year was that the finish was more of a surprise out of nowhere instead of an exclamation point. But that's what they were going for in terms of Michaels not giving in, no matter what.

I can remember last year on this board we were saying who had what finishers left. Taker and HBK each hit all their finishers and kicked out each time so no one knew. It was a total surprise.

Don't get me wrong, I loved this match and loved the finish. On a 10-point scale, both matches were 10s or damn close to it. Just a few minor things, mostly personal preference, that I liked from last year:
    1) Jim Ross calling last year's match
    2) A bit more suspense, since you honestly had no idea who would win from start to finish; this year it was probably 75-25 that Taker would win
    3) It seemed like there were more spots in last year's match
    4) A small thing, but last year being a "regular" match let them do a mid-match spot where Taker rolled back in on a 9 1/2-count after his dive over the top. That was a dramatic moment that they didn't have this year
    5) There were a couple spots that were inevitably duplicated this time (the crucifix powerbomb, a couple of the nearfalls)

To be fair, it's like comparing one Rembrandt to another. Both great matches, both classics.
