So, I'm rewatching Mania on the DVR. Only had time for the Tag Team and Triple Threat matches last night and, upon rewatch, the Tag Match actually wasn't half-bad. The first time I watched it, something seemed off, like it ended too suddenly but they actually did a decent enough job setting it up. The triple threat? Well, it was OK. Loved the ending but felt they really screwed the pooch on the booking there, trying to go back to a feud that was badly botched when they started pushing Kofi.

And, of by the by, I know a lot of you don't watch Smackdown but an asshole friend of mine ruined the big surprise from the taping this week in his Facebook update and, well, I won't spoil it for you but you should definitely check it out.

I don't watch Smackdown either, so I went ahead and googled this. Hooooleee sheeeite.

This even has a fan video from the audience of what you are talking about:

That was pretty awesome. My fiancee actually watches SD (mainly because of Edge), so it's gonna be hard to keep that on the hush for a couple days.

The tag team bit is interesting, too.

That must have been a really fun show to be at, with both the main part and the tag team part. I've often thought that the new heel after the tag team part would get a pretty big push. He seemed like he has the look that Vince likes.

Still seems random, though. The tag team division's hurting anyway, then they up and do that with one that people like.

They had done a decent job of building the tag team division back up. This move just kills what little momentum they had.

How? Those guys were crap as a team anyways, and they'll likely be crap on their own. One can only hope that the team they won a mini feud over will be advanced as a result of this.

I agree - They had stagnated for years as a tag team. They were crude stereotypes and never got completely over with most crowds, despite plenty of television time to do so.

    Likely suicide.

Truly sad news about Kanyon. He was a tremendous -- and way underrated -- performer in the ring. During his days as Mortis, he had a stretch of six months or a year where he unveiled one new move every match. Could have been something as simple as a variation on a headlock or as complex and dangerous as a flapjack off the top turnbuckle.
Obviously, he had his share of personal demons though. It's a shame. As far as in-ring performers, he was one of my favorites from the last 20 years.
    RIP.

An excellent in-ring performer who deserved the nickname 'The Innovater of Offense'. RIP
