That's why historically, it's was considered easier to be a babyface. You don't have to do anything. To be a heel, you have to work to make the crowd hate you.

Today, it's a little different to be an effective babyface. Sammartino and Morales could easily get the crowd to cheer them just based on their ethnicity. Today, guys like Cena also have to work, because if they act too wussy, fans won't like them.

As the wrestlers themselves say: It's easier to get the fans to hate you than to like you.

If they start as heels, the fans are against them. But fans love to see ANYONE turn face. Yes, even Trips.

When I was at RAW last month, the face pops were basically in this order:
    1. Cena
    2. (close) Trips

Minor correction: The Perfect turn occurred shortly before Survivor Series 1992, not SummerSlam. I remember this because: A.) SurSer that year was at the Richfield Coliseum in suburban Cleveland, about 45 mins from my house, and B.) I interviewed Flair for a story on SurSer returning to Cleveland in '04 and asked him about the '92 match. (For the record, Flair didn't go into much detail about the match, but he certainly seemed to remember it. Considering it was a hastily thrown together tag match from 12 years earlier, I was pleasantly surprised.)

Yup, you are correct sir. I guess my memory on these things is pretty good, but not "absolutely perfect."

Now go practice spitting out your gum and swatting it 100 times until you ARE perfect.

I always wondered if Curt ever hit a fan when he swatted his gum.

Watching last night's Raw just now... The Hoff is shockingly good at guest hosting. I wasn't expecting much, but he seems to know exactly the right amount of cheese (translation: tons) needed to host.

I gotta admit. I liked the slo-mos of the Divas running down to the ring.

Main event wasn't half-bad, but the ending was pretty predictable. Next week, I bet we'll see Swagger/Batista against Cena and Orton again, with the heels going over since the faces won the first battle.

    How was Orton's pop?

Pretty good pop, with chants of RKO throughout the match. Batista seemed like he didn't really get booed that much.

Eh, I thought Raw sucked. But, then again, it's because I recognize that this month is basically just filler the WWE is trying to get through to get to the draft and reboot.

Laughed out loud when Hornswoggle came down via slo-mo though. That was hilarious.
