You do realize, of course, that Triple H hasn't had a belt (not counting the tag title run with HBK) in a year?
Hell, other than the elimination chamber match I'm not sure if he's even had a title match at a PPV since then. Not that he hasn't thrust himself into the spotlight from time to time, but he's done a pretty good job of staying in the background the last couple years.

    Well said, Batman.

Trips hasn't really been in a title picture in a while and, like HBK, he doesn't need to be in it to be entertaining. Beating the piss out of Sheamus will do that...

I'd love to see a Miz-Jericho feud. Their exchanges on Twitter are hilarious. I don't know if it would mean having to turn Jericho, but I think those two would be great against each other on the mic.

Current Miz vs. young tweener Jericho would be epic. You almost, though, could leave them as is and let the fans decide the lesser of two evils. VKM, however, wouldn't let that happen, I'm sure.

Don't know how many of you guys watched Smackdown tonight but they teased an Edge-Christian promo and, I've got to admit, I got a little excited. I'm going to guess that Christian wins MITB at the PPV and fights then-champion Edge at SummerSlam. If so, I'm going to be VERY excited. :)

I think DiBiase and The Miz are fairly close to each other in the WWE pecking order, actually. I'm not saying it's the way it should be, but I think it is.

That wouldn't surprise me, but I think even the WWE has to notice the big difference in crowd reaction between the Miz and Ted Jr. I actually get the feeling that DiBiase was initially going to get pushed more, and go over in his feud with Orton because of The Marine 2, but his role seems to be scaled back since then.

At this point, I don't care how it happens - The Miz needs to be in the title picture somehow. I think him and Christian are the most over of the non-past champions.

I think they're misusing R Truth. He's entertaining, a decent wrestler. Makes you wonder if the WWE has a little racial preference thing going here. Kofi hasn't had one of the two main belts, ditto for Mark Henry. Unless I'm missing someone, you have to go back to the days of Bobby Lashley for a black champion? I've never seen MVP hold down anything other than the U.S. champ.

IIRC, Booker T and The Rock are the only two wrestlers of African American descent that have held a world title in WWE.

I just started watching wrestling after a several year break at the start of 2010. I haven't seen anything from MVP, Kofi, or R Truth that screams world champ. Kofi's the closest, IMO. Of course, I don't see what Swagger has over any of those guys.

  10. Vince loves cornbread white boys that are jacked up, ya dig? That's why Swagger and them can excel. Swagger has a lisp, but he's swole like that. Feel me?

While there haven't been a ton of African-Americans who have held the belt, there has been other ethnic guys besides just plain old whitey who have had runs with it, starting with Pedro Morales in Feb. 1971. From there, you have reigns by the Iron Sheik, Yokozuna, The Rock, Eddie Guerrero and Batista.

Thing is, what Vince looks for are two things: guys with a good look, and who can talk. Wrestling ability is third, and usually Vince has had to be dragged kicking and screaming into giving guys who are great workers, but no personality, into pushing them to the top (i.e., Benoit).

Looking at the African-Americans on the roster now, they don't have both that look and the talking aspect down:

Kofi: Good look, good wrestler, doesn't say a word.
MVP: Decent look, although a little on the small side, can talk and pretty good wrestler with a lousy finisher. But perhaps, because of his past life (he spent something like 8 years in prison), Vince may be a bit hesitant on giving a convicted felon the top spot in his company.
Mark Henry: Classic big guy look, very little personality, wrestling ability, meh. Hard to envision him as a world champion.
Shelton Benjamin (yeah, I know, he's gone): Good look, great wrestler, can't talk.
Cryme Time guys: Haven't seen them enough to know how they are in singles, although Shad certainly has the look that Vince likes.
Ezekiel Jackson: Great look, but seems to not have any personality.
