They're also moving into a new stadium, so for at least one year, the revenue should be flowing.

I'm shocked by the Matheny hire.

    But should I be?

Well, Nick Punto and Jeff Mathis aren't retired yet, so it's not that surprising to me.

The great Mr. Destructo takes a run at Peter Angelos.

Looks like a $$$ saving deal if you ask me. The team is going to be very talented and will have a good chance to make the playoffs again and I do not think Matheny will change that either way.

Reyes to the Marlins continues to switch between "done" and "Not done" depending on which source you believe. Which, of course, means some people should stop printing unverified ish in an attempt to be first.

On that note, Buster Olney is reporting the Dodgers are "on the verge" of signing Matt Kemp to an 8-year, $160 million deal.

Jeremy Hellickson and Craig Kimbrel named AL and NL Rookies of the Year.

No link yet, but saw it come across on the Baseball HOF feed on facebook.

    Kimbrel was unanimous.

Damn, Texas could go 60-20 in their division in 2013 alone. They could go 41-41 the rest of the way and have a comfy home-field advantage.

Bring on the Astros. And if the Angels sign C.J. Wilson for $100MM-plus to be their fourth starter at best, they deserve what they're getting.

Whatever team signs C.J. Wilson is getting the 2012 version of Barry Zito or Mike Hampton.
