I apologize, I thought everyone would know who I was talking about.

Pujols' super-stardom across the Caribbean and Central America makes Miami a natural spot for him and his fat paycheck.

sgreenwell, there was a story on Baseball Nation yesterday (don't have time to find it) that Ramirez was not happy about the courting of Reyes and what it would mean for him positionally.

If Pujols signs with Miami, this home run thing will light up often.

Houston Astros to move to AL as part of allowing prospective new owner to take possession of the team.

Just updating. No real comment to add here. Discuss.

Meh. They suck, so who cares? They're so far away from competing that I don't think it hurts them so much to move to the AL.

Jayson Starck was on ESPN Radio this afternoon and he said the interleague plan will call for all teams to play all teams in the other league, and that it's setting up to have at least one interleague series going on every day.

    Ugh.

Typical MLB. Take the easy way out and create more travel for three of the four AL West teams. Naturally, the Rangers like it.

If you're going to change -- and I agree, there should be change -- then do it right.

If you want to keep divisions, then get rid of the DH or keep it all around and really change it up, but make it uniform throughout.

NL West: Padres, Dodgers, Angels, Giants, Athletics
AL West: Mariners, Diamondbacks, Rockies, Rangers, Astros

NL Central: Royals, Cardinals, Cubs, White Sox, Brewers
AL Central: Tigers, Indians, Reds, Twins, Pirates

AL East: Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Nationals, Orioles
NL East: Marlins, Rays, Blue Jays, Braves, Phillies

Have 18 games each within your division (72 games). Six games each against the other 10 teams (60 games). Two games each against teams in the other league. Division winners and next two make the playoffs. Bottom two play a best-of-three as the other rest/set up rotations.

    Or ...

Move the Astros into the AL and have two 15-team leagues (again, playing by the same DH/no DH rules). Play 45 games (three each) against teams in the other league. Then play eight games each the other 14 teams in your league for 114 games, and a total of 157. (Stop whining about the loss of five games; season is too long as it is. You'll make up for it with extra playoff games.) Tighten up with doubleheaders (day-night if you want) and shorten the season by a week or two (nothing wrong with that; you get your ass kicked in September and October as it is.) Then take the top five teams in each league into the playoffs. I prefer this way because everyone plays the same teams the same number of times.

Multiple reports that Cubs have offered manager's job to Dale Sveum, who is "expected to accept."
