The potential is there? Are you serious? Jeter has never even hit 30 homers in a season, let alone sniffed 50. And his top solen base season was 34 in 2006.

You obviously aren't familiar with Manky. He is either the most ridiculous fanboy ever to join this site or a sock puppet engaging in performance art. Most of us believe it is the latter, which is why I get fed up with him dragging his bullshit into legitimate discussions.

No one thought Brady Anderson could lead the league in homers. Then, he did.

I would recommend you read Olney's book "Last Night of the Yankee Dynasty". It is chock full of quotes from Yankees players attesting that Jeter has massive home run power. So I'm not the only one saying this.

I thought he had a couple 40+ SB seasons...I was wrong, but my point still stands. He was a very high percentage base stealer but only ran within the framework of the Yankees offense. He obviously could have stolen quite a few more bases but his percentage would have gone down. The other thing is, with the Yankees routinely scoring 900 runs a year there wasn't much need for him to try to manufacture runs. His job was to get on base.

As for the homers, Jeter never had to carry the load of being the Yankees big power threat (that was the job for Giambi, Tino, Sheffield, ARod, Tex, etc).

Outofplace: I would post my thoughts on the Jeter thread but I can't find it. Mods, if it's not too much trouble would you move the Jeter posts over to the Jeter thread?

Now that's unfair. I said he had the potential.

OOP, fucking with someone's posts in the quote function like that isn't cool. I'll let you take care of it before I do.

Manky, I can't move posts from one thread to another. But, yeah, Jeter isn't getting traded. Let's keep him off this thread from here on out.

Don't PM me, I don't have time or desire to deal with it on Thanksgiving. Just fix it.

You're "The Captain" here Moddy, I'll keep the Jeter talk to the Jeter thread (unless someone else brings him up). Happy Thanksgiving!

Sizemore re-signs with the Indians for one year, $5 million (with a potential $4 million in incentives). Sounds about right:

Of all his posts, this one made me laugh the most.

I was thinking about the DH rule, and I came upon this idea, I was curious if you guys would be for it, or against it.

Both leagues adopt the DH. However, a player must field at least 360 innings (40 games) in order to be an eligible DH for the next season. Otherwise, the only way he can play the next season is through a regular fielding spot. The rule is only nulled if the player is at any point placed on the 60-day DL.

The rule endorses a DH for both leagues (which would be nice now that constant IL play is in effect) while discouraging one-dimensional players.
