The Daisuke/Darvish comparisons are mostly due to the amount of money spent on the posting fee. Nomo was pre-posting system (which started in 1998), so the Dodgers didn't have to bid tens of millions of dollars to even negotiate with him.

And Matsuzaka was a really good pitcher before he hurt his arm. It's not like his stuff just didn't match up over here or anything.

White Sox re-sign Danks, $65 million over five.

Apparently they want to use him as the anchor to the rebuilding project.

Link to the signing, but also has thoughts of the new approach.

Perhaps the contract is to make him more attractive in a trade?

If Chicago will pick up most of the money, Peavy & Dunn are both worth a shot.

Gio Gonzalez to the Nats, it seems:

Great deal. A lot of quality prospects but nobody really proven. Adds a very proven piece to the Nats core. A young proven piece.

Seems like a nice deal for both teams, although I like it a bit more for the Athletics.

Why are the As so eager to give up this guy?

Gio is to the MLB what Jennifer Aniston is to men. He's been in four or five different orgs already, I think.
