Nah. I feel bad for Quade though. Worked his whole career to land a major league gig and wound up running a Triple-A team.

The only way I would be 100 percent behind Sandberg as the manager would be if he had to manage against Dave Martinez. Line-up exchanges would be a blast.

Hey, lately you-know-who is keeping his foolishness off the regular threads. As long as he's doing that, it's not fair for us to bait him.

If we can't bait people (salary caps suck) without provocation (Steelers fanboi looser) then the terrorists (you are a fanboi looser for a pig rapist) have surely won (baseball is great the way it is and football sucks the giant pole of suck, as do you) and we should all (you suck at fantasy sports and I hate you) just kill ourselves (smiley face).

    Nicely done.

Oh, legitimate posters can and do bait all the want. Let's just keep the game-playing sock puppet on his own little thread, though, if we can.

ALSO YOUR DYSLEXIC ABBREVIATED SCREEN NAME IS A SYNONYM FOR FECES! Forgot that one. Sorry sir. :D

And Manky is entertaining. I mean, c'mon, the guy posited the other day that Tony LaRussa would have DOUBLED the Yankees' title output since 1995. In addition to that driving you completely fucking crazy (see what I did there?) you have to appreciate, at some level, performance art that convincing.

He is far too late to drive me crazy, but he doesn't anyway. I just like to go to that thread and argue. The only time he really bothers me is when he brings his sock-puppet foolishness to a legitimate discussion.

Not a big fan of this statement:

Pretty much makes it sound like Quade had none of those skills.

Even if you just put the thanks to Quade before the requirements for the new manager, it sounds better.

Maybe it's a small thing, but as the first thing he's done in the new job, it kind of sucks that he treated the outgoing manager like that.

    You are cherrypicking one quote.

Everyone knew Quade was a lame duck, but Epstein took the time to give him a 7-hour meeting last week, and then flew down yesterday to let Quade know in person. He's been nothing but complimentary to Quade in interviews.

Twins hire Cory Provus for the radio PxP spot. You will like him, Twins fans.

Don't have a really strong opinion on any of those guys. Santo is deserving I suppose, but I don't think his omission thus far has been a crime. Same with Boyer. Hodges doesn't deserve it as a player-only, but maybe when you factor in his managing (though he died before that portion of his career was able to run its course).

Reynolds was a great pitcher on some great late 40s/early 50s Yankees teams, but there are several pitchers (Kaat and Tiant, for example) more deserving than him not in the Hall.

Oliva and Minoso were very good hitters in a tough era for offense, but I don't think they're Hall of Famers.

Finley's impact on the game was indelible, but he did a lot of negative as well. Bavasi helped build some great Dodgers teams, but Larry MacPhail, Branch Rickey and Peter O'Malley (who are all in the Hall of Fame already) deserve more of the credit there.

Kaat should absolutely be selected, but in an amazing feat, the new Veterans system is even more fucked up than the old committee. Sad to say, but former players should have no role in the Hall process. They make us BBWAA members look like combinations of Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes and Plato.
