Carlos Zambrano to the Marlins for Chris Volstad. Cubs would pick up bulk of Zambrano's salary:

I'm waiting for the articles & lectures about how classless this was by MLB just like the last time he quit.

Not too bad of a move on the part of the Marlins, especially if the Cubs are paying most of his salary. For the Cubs, Volstad might be worth taking a risk on, even if they have to pay a lot of salary to get rid of Zambrano.

Oh.... are you Yankee fans still stuck on that bullshit? Your team wanted him gone and instead of having the guts to just let him go, they lowballed him. It was classless.

Padres trade first baseman Anthony Rizzo to the Cubs for reliever Andrew Cashner:

Rizzo was the key player in the Adrian Gonzalez deal, but became expendable when San Diego acquired Yonder Alonso in the Mat Latos deal last month.

I don't know much about Cashner, but doesn't that seem to be a little cheap for Rizzo?

Cashner's a great prospect who has never quite put it together. He's either been productive or healthy, but never both, and every year it becomes less and less likely he can be a starter.

As a Cubs fan, I'm pretty happy. And they got the better of the prospect swap, too, Na for Cate.
