Maybe they move Hughes back to the bullpen because he has had success there and nobody seems to think Burnett can work consistently in relief.

Or they can pull a Derek Lowe-type move and ship Burnett somewhere and eat some/most of the cost.

Probably a wise move, considering they're getting Pineda at $414K for the next couple of years.

Burnett could probably do well in the NL West.

Could do very well in San Diego.

Campos could be a very nice kicker to the deal.

Do any people think that Seattle would be a better team by trading Felix instead and getting Montero and the top two pitching prospects (Banuelos and Betences) and saving $20 mil? They also could have kept Campos.

Or in Philadelphia so Roy Halladay can mentor him again. Definitely worked in Toronto.

I know, they probably can't afford him, just speaking for sake of speaking.

I'll echo Buck -- great pull. I found myself wanting to read more.

To be fair, I'm convinced that if I could get my fastball up to 80, I could man that fifth-starter job in San Diego for a year. That's where offense goes to die.

    Yeah, but could Burnett?

    Couple of small moves ...

Oakland signs Bartolo Colon for 1 year deal:

Joel Pineiro to the Phillies on a minor-league contract:

    And one potentially big one:

Nationals agree with Gio Gonzalez on a $42 million extension thru 2016, avoiding arbitration:

Heyman tweets that Victor Martinez is likely out for 2012 after tearing his ACL in conditioning drills.

Just heard that on the local news as well, pern.

Cabrera should get used to LOTS of intentional walks again.

Tigers were rumored to be heavy players for Cespedes. Wonder if they up the ante even more now.
