Hate to see him go. He was a much-better second banana to Uke than Jim Powell was.

Atlanta is willing to deal Prado and Jurrjens.

    No.

    And no.

Of course, the Braves' track record of dumping quality players moments before they go to shit is legendary, so maybe JJ's more broken down than we think.

Jurrjens is a guy who the peripheral stats look pretty bad for. If I were the Braves, I'd trade him too while his 2.98 ERA looks all shiny and tempting. I wouldn't bet on him being able to do that again with 5.3 K/9.

I think the only one on that list I would support is Minnie Minoso. It's odd to see Chuck Finley on there. Anyone remember the time he got beat up by his wife and the Indians had to skip his turn in the rotation?

I think that's pretty much the only thing people now remember about Chuck Finley.

I like Santo on that ballot a lot, and Minoso is interesting from the curiosity / longevity standpoint.

Yeah, but he was a pretty good pitcher there for several years. Put up Andy Pettitte-type numbers without the postseason glory.

Santo I'm OK with but it seems wrong to induct him now that he's dead, when they wouldn't put him in when he was around to enjoy it.

Has Billy Martin come up yet on the veteran's ballot?

The Royals and Braves have an incestuous trade partnership, often swapping junk for the other's. Rumors are Jurrjens is headed there for one of their farm goodies. Jurrjens would get eaten raw in the AL East.

    Three thoughts:

    1. If Charlie Finley gets inducted into the HOF, he should go in wearing a Yankees cap.
    2. Boyer > Santo
    3. I hope above hope the Mets re-sign Reyes so I have a reason to watch them for 120 or so games the next few years.

I'm OK with the Braves dealing Jurrjens. They have Hudson, Hanson and Beachy for the rotation. Minor and one of the other young guys would fill the remaining spots nicely. It's a position of strength for the Braves.

Prado is a great asset with his versatility, but if they have to package him with Jurrjens to yield a strong everyday OF, then I'm cool with it.
