Well watching that online was a fun way to spend five hours in the office.

Now we'll see if Tiger can follow it up, unlike at Pebble Beach when that third round turned into a pedestrian Sunday. When he's won the Masters, it's alway been the Friday-Saturday rounds that put him in the lead. Has he been able to put together two straight good rounds in the last year? But today did feel different than any of the other ones, some darts with the irons and some clutch putts that he's been missing since the '09 PGA. The missed cut talk does look a bit ludicrous now. He's going to be like Couples. When he's 48 and playing with no cartilage in his knees, he'll still make top 20 at Augusta.

you convinced me, I'm rooting for Tiger this weekend. And I hope after he wins it with a 36 foot birdie putt on 18, 2 porn stars run out onto the green and Tiger gives them the the full tongue and ass grab.

That would be fabulous. BTW, at the first Masters I covered, in 1999, a Euro golfer in the field whose name I forget, damn it, had this unbelievably gorgeous blonde following him around in his early morning tee time Thursday. I was informed by a European writer that this comely lass was in fact Sweden's most celebrated porn star.
    So there's hope!

Today was a nice reminder of how much more interesting tournaments are when Tiger's in the mix. I don't care if he wins, but I want him relevant throughout the weekend.

I hear ya, John. He could still back up tomorrow. His swing is not airtight.

True, but he found something from the eighth tee on. He had one bad drive after No. 7 -- into the trees on No. 11 but got bailed out by his putter for a par, and I think that made the round. As has been said, we'll see if he can put two good rounds together because it hasn't happened yet this year.

  7. Yeah.. I'm not going all in on Tiger until I see him tomorrow.
As has been pointed out, in the majors he didn't win within the last year he went low (66,67) for one round, before backing up.
He shots in the 60s tomorrow ... Book it; another Green Jacket.

That would be me. Unfortunately, Kuchar wasn't able to keep it up today. But a tidy little 65 or 66 Saturday could put him in the mix Sunday. And I guess Tiger ain't dead yet, eh? I love how people write this guy off so quickly so often despite what he's done. Love him or hate him, you can never count him out. Not yet anyway.

The epic meltdown here by a few if Tiger wins would make a Tiger win worthwhile.

Today's the tell for Woods. He's had nice rounds in 2011 before, but been unable to keep it up. Somebody in the pack's going to go low. That's the thing about Augusta. The hot putter is well-rewarded.

Kind of funny how so many supposedly unbiased journalists let their hatred for Tiger cloud their judgement by (repeatedly) saying he's finished when he goes a while without winning, eh?

I don't want to have to go to the trouble of considering an athlete's fidelity to his wife before watching him play. I really don't have time or the resources. So I just watch them play, marvel when they're good. Gawk when they melt down.

Life really is simple and pretty darn enjoyable when you stop trying to judge everybody else's sins.
