Hasn't Ric Flair always referred to it as the "World's Heavyweight Champion?"

Also, they have to put the two matches first, then have the women's match as the downtime inbetween the two title bouts and the Rumble match.

But the belt says world heavyweight champion.

Are there no other matches on the docket?

The old NWA title was the "World's Heavyweight Champion," so I'm guessing that's where it comes from.

Terry Funk was notable for saying "World's champion."

In theory, that's correct. Although (and I may be wrong) typically, those who compete in non-Rumble matches aren't typically in the rumble itself. But I don't think there's any set rule, so it's entirely possible Ziggler and Orton/Miz loser could show up.

One of the all time epic Royal Rumble performances was Roddy Piper's attempt to win the IC title and World title in the same night. Defeated The Mountie for the Intercontinental title and then made a deep run in the Rumble match that Flair eventually won.

Thanks Billikens. I just wondered how they are filling 40 spots, and thought one of the losers could wind up in the Rumble, win and demand a rematch. Then again, I don't watch regularly enough to know if that's a dumb thought.

WO.com has a list of 35 of the entrants, and that doesn't include Nash and Booker, nor Christian, who could be a surprise entrant.

Anything that ends with Miz holding the title is good, but did we really need *more* Nexus?

Not sure I understand that ending. But that was an awesome spot with Orton throwing Riley out of the ring.

Miz just retained the title. Punk interfered knocking Orton out when Orton had put Miz out, and then he dragges Miz's arm over on Orton for the pin.

Edge got help from Kelly Kelly who took out Vicki, who didn't see him do the spear with the ref also down. Ref comes to, catches Edge in the pin and it's over.

Thought sure Awesome Kong was coming out.
