Actually, it looks like Mistico, the original Sin Cara, was sent home for good and the "new" guy will take over the character permanently.

Old Sin Cara returned, but botched a bunch of moves and was sent home from tapings. Not sure if they'll bring him back, but you could definitely tell a difference in the two Sin Caras.

That's got to be really weird for the crowd. I mean, they know the show's a taping, but still, it makes it pretty hard to suspend belief if the two wrestlers are doing the same match again.

Every once in a long while they'll reshoot a match. I think one time Vince McMahon actually came out during a Smackdown taping and yelled at the two guys working. They ended up doing the match again.

They'll redo interview segments as well.

Everything I read about it confuses me more. Who F-ed up Tuesday: Mistico or Hunicio?

It was Mistico who was there Tuesday. IIRC, he was suspended for a wellness violation, and Tuesday was his first taping since getting off suspension. Then during the taping was the botched-up match and do-over with Slater. Then after that, it looks like WWE brass has decided to cut bait with Mistico, and take the interim label off Hunico to be the guy in the Sin Cara costume.

Mistico fucked up. Hunicio played Sin Cara for like a week or two, then Mistico came back under the mask last week. Mistico was sent home for sucking at this week's Smackdown, and it seems likely that Mistico is done. Mistico and Awesome Kong were Triple H's big signings, so if he's getting future endeavored (or at least put on the shelf/sent to FCW), then he must really be a problem. Plus there's been talk that he has a big head.

I guess they have quite a lot invested in the Sin Cara gimmick that they don't have Hunicio just be Hunicio on the big show. But I thought the point of Mistico/Sin Cara was to dig further into the Mexican market. They're not cheering for the blue and orange lights or the Sin Cara mask, they're cheering for Mistico. Otherwise they could have created a new luchador gimmick for Hunicio without having to go through all this.

For one thing, although it may be true, you always have to take with a grain of salt the rumors that a guy has a big head with the WWE. They consider any guy who has a past reputation of success outside the WWE who comes in and looks at themselves as equals as someone who has a big head (i.e., Punk, Jericho, the Midnight Rockers). To kiss ass in the locker room is a major WWE job requirement.

That said, they really should have done their homework with Mistico before bringing him up. They should have either kept him in FCW to learn their style, or, here's a crazt thought, maybe have their guys study some tapes of him and adjust their styles to him (like Danielson, who put on a pretty good match with him), instead of trying to always fit a square peg into a round hole.

Got floor passes to WWE tonight. Now it's a question of the two hour drive.
