But probably fake? No way do I believe that the WWE has The Rock wrestle before Mania, unless it's in a training facility or with no crowd or TV cameras there.

Apparently it's legit, or the major sites are treating it that way. There's talk that they want Rocky in the ring before his match with Cena, which probably makes sense since he hasn't wrestled in years. Plus the 2.7 they shat out Monday is forcing their hand.

hell if they team up it's ok, because it'll still build the tension.

Well, that's that then. I don't know how I feel about it. It does seem like they're hotshotting it in panic, and frankly, I think Punk-Cena at its height had more heat than anything Rock-Cena. The only way I see this turning out well is if Cena or Rock turns heel (although if Rock turns on Cena, it'll probably just make him over as a face).

This is the danger with announcing Rock-Cena a year in advance. There's no point in having Cena do anything consequential because everyone's waiting for Rock. Not that the booking with him and Del Rio has been especially good, but when you know Rock's in the wings, who could possibly care about Cena-Del Rio? It doesn't help that Del Rio is getting dangerously close to repetitive, with every interview following the same numbers.

If they were smart, they would have booked this entire year with Cena guaranteeing that he'd have the belt at Mania to put it on the line against Rock. That way, each of the pre-Mania feuds actually had something interesting about them.

    Instead, they're blowing it. Majorly.

Totally agree. Except for the Punk stuff, which was mostly CM's talent shining through, nobody has cared what Cena's done since the announcement for next year.

What they should have done is have Rock say the week after WM, "I respect you, but I'm not happy with the direction this company is going. You are screwing up this company. I'm going to keep my eye on you. If I think you are still screwing up, I'm going to let you know."

Then Rock makes sporadic, unannounced appearances on Raw or at PPVs, and attacks Cena. Then Cena comes back with constant challenges. Rock ignores them, does some short (and WHEN I MEAN SHORT, I MEAN SHORT!!! No more half-hour promos.) videos saying that while he loves WWE, he has movies to make (kinda makes him a heel, but I'd doubt the fans would really boo him).

Then they do a scene around February where Rock tries to sneak-attack, only Cena fights him off and destroys him. AA through a table, chairs, that sort of thing. Rock gets mad and accepts Cena's challenge for WM.

I'm trying to find one. Sometimes it's like fishing. It takes a while to get a bite.
