She hadn't been on TV in forever, which was disappointing. I had always thought that she was so god damn hot that she could have been used as a face eventually. Heck, at least she could kind of play a character, as opposed to Kelly Kelly, who's dominant emotion is Smile.

Why they didn't continue with the Miz-Maryse flirtation/pairing, I'll never know.

Wonder if those two will stay together in real life now.

I think Maryse had gotten hurt again in a match, which is why she wasn't on TV. Plus she isn't a native English speaker, so it's not like she could cut a promo. Still, I think they should have kept her, as one of those women so hot, they manipulate the men into doing what they want.

  4. Maybe they bring her back when she's healthy again?

Maryse really didn't add that much to the picture. Sure, she's hot as hell, but there's only but so many blonde heels you can do anything with (Phoenix, Natalya, rumors of Michelle McCool returning, and they might be teasing an eventual turn for Kelly Kelly). They didn't put her on NXT thinking she would single-handedly increase views.

Interesting that nobody brought up spoilers for the November 3 and November 10 Impacts. Teeny-tiny spoiler text about the biggest news incoming, so be kind and respond in similarly-sized font. HINT: LOLTNA

Robert Roode wins the title from James Storm at the end of a 16-minute match against James Storm in the main event of the November 3 show. He does this by breaking a beer bottle over Storm's head, turning heel in the process. Roode wins the rematch in the November 10 main event by rolling up a blood loss-weakened Storm after he was attacked by another goddamned mystery assailant backstage. Also, Robbie from Jersey Shore and Garrett Bischoff had matches at the tapings. WRESTLING MATTERS.

Say what you want about TNA's angles, booking, storylines, etc. I've got to give them props in an area they absolutely kick ass in -- media relations. And I'm going to sound like a TNA flack posting this, so I apologize, but it's the second time I've done interviews with their people and they were equally great both times.

TNA is coming in to do a house show in our town in a few weeks, and as the resident "wrestling guy" in the newsroom I was tasked with writing a feature/preview story. Took a couple phone calls to set up an interview, but once it was set they didn't fool around. Called exactly when they said they would -- not a minute before, not a minute after -- and gave me the time I needed.
One of my interview requests fell through at the last minute (they thought the person was supposed to be in the building, but wasn't), so they passed the phone to someone else. It was kind of awkward since all my questions were geared toward a totally different direction, but he was really cool about it and gave me some great answers.
If all PR departments were as on the ball as TNA's, our jobs would be much, much easier.

Has anyone ever dealt with WWE's media relations people? Just curious how they compare.

Maybe. Still kinda sucks they'd release her if she's hurt.

Judging by her Twitter account, Maryse isn't too worried. A few posts about how she's finally free, and a photo of her 'congratulations on your WWE release' cake.

A buddy of mine does a lot of side work writing about pro wrestling, and he's had the same experience.

  10. Loved Windham with the Horsemen; they were probably at their strongest with him serving as the muscle. Couldn't understand why WCW pushed Luger over him when Windham was clearly the best wrestler.

Muppets on Raw tonight.....this reeks of fail.

Cole: "What you are about to witness, has never been seen on television."

Referring to the Henry/Show ring breaking.

Um, WWE fucktards, that has been seen on TV. You know, when Brock Lesnar did it to Show.

When he was haggling with Kermit for a match, Jack Swagger looked like he was retracing the steps of where his career went wrong.
