2011 Pro Wrestling Thread

Was that a WWE video? If so, it makes me wonder who it's talking about.

 

Seems like an Undertaker returning video. They've done this a dozen times through the years.

What they should do is have him come out spontaneously for once. Make it a truly shocking thing.

 

I hope to God it's not Taker...but who else could it be?

Jericho? Masked Kane?

 

Oh well, so much for Awesome Truth. Frankly, I think they ended it way too soon. They could have kept the storyline going for a while longer.

Nothing much Raw to write home about otherwise. Good match with Punk and Ziggler, although you pretty much knew Punk was going to win. Only other good parts was Punk ripping on WWE for calling fans "Universe" (thank God, I'm sick of it too), and Booker comparing Ryder to Tebow.

 

Have to think that video is for Taker or Jericho. (Also, love how, when I watched it, the video had 310 views -- and somehow had 303 likes and nine dislikes.) It references Jan. 2, 2012, which is a Monday.

 

Actually, my guess is Kane with a mask. If it's Undertaker, that's fine. He adds intrigue, if nothing else. I'll be watching, that's for darn sure. So mission accomplished on that promo.

Might this be a Miz face turn? I hope so. We were just lamenting the lack of faces on Raw.

 

I think if anything, it sets up R-Truth to go face. He gets a better positive crowd reaction anyway; just a shame he gone git got by the Miz.

Regarding the promo, hm... It feels like an Undertaker promo, with Kane coming in a close second, but I doubt they'd hype up the return of Kane like that. It doesn't fit at all with Jericho, who normally does a technical / countdown comeback.

 

But did you see how it was teased during Raw? They had the Twitter promo in the corner of the screen get "hacked" and you could just make out the web address "youtube.com/user/itbegins2012". That's pretty Jericho.

That said, I'm going with Taker. The video starts with a paraphrase of a verse in Isaiah. That seems like an Undertaker type of thing (though hasn't Jericho used Bible verses during a return tease before?).

 

Ah, I actually didn't see it on the broadcast. I think both times he has come back, he has referred to himself as a savior, so you might be right.

 

Commented before I watched Raw. The in-show promo (starts at 12:38 in this video:

) does seem to point to Kane.
