I'd love it, but the time it would take doesn't really match up with my schedule.

I was just thinking about this, and wanted to know your thoughts.

John Morrison equals Sheldon Benjamin. Meaning, that they're very similar in the ring and on the microphone and both lack charisma. I still believe Sheldon was a bit better in the ring though.

Where do you think it all went wrong for these two wrestlers in the WWE?

Benjamin had a reputation for being lazy and coasting on his natural athletic talent without putting in the work to get better. He had his moments, and he had people putting him over hard (Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair), but it never seemed to click.

Morrison's downfall was his backstage personality and seeming co-dependance on Melina, even going so far as to blow off the universally adored Trish Stratus in preparing for their Wrestlemania match because he thought Melina should be in there (as if).

They could join RVD in TNA and start a stable called Whatever.

Morrison, I thought, always had some very good potential as a heel character when he was doing his Jim Morrison impression. Problem was, his in-ring ability and size cries out for him to be a babyface. He has main-event in-ring ability, but mid-card personality.

Benjamin, I've always thought, would have been awesome with Haas in the 80s as a Midnight Express-type tag team with someone like Cornette or Dangerously managing him going around the territories and feuding with the other tags. Either that, or he could have gone for the stereotypical black wrestler role and carried a jukebox with him and probably been a main event contender, but not a champion (I'm thinking like an Iceman Parsons-type, or in the 90s, a 2-Cold Scorpio).

90% of the people who contribute to WWE's revenue don't give two poops about in-ring ability.

  6. I remember being impressed with Morrison early in his career, back when he was rivals with The Miz and then tag-team partners with him, with not just his in-ring ability but also his work ethic. It seemed like those two were on every show, putting on good matches at a time when a lot of WWE's talent was on the shelf.

That work ethic paid off for The Miz. Not so much for Morrison.

Back in the day, if you had said The Miz would be world champion and Morrison would be future endeavored, it would be nuts. But Miz has turned himself into a solid in-ring guy, and he's one of the best on the mic as well.

I remember when MNM broke in a few years ago. Didn't much care for the Hollywood gimmick they had going on, but I thought they were an excellent tag team.

Then they broke MNM up, Nitro became John Morrison, and now he's out of a job. Oh well.

    And Gehrig, it's Shelton Benjamin.

And KY, it was Nitro who became John Morrison, not Mercury. :D

I think he got into drugs, cleaned up, came back as part of Punk's Straight Edge Society for about 10 minutes, then...? I don't know after that.
