The wife and I just got back from the local shithole that offers PPVs (See? We legally pay for them when they're going to be good!).

    Man, what a fantastic show.

Del Rio vs. Kofi looked a bit off to us, like neither guy had the timing quite down but that Smackdown Elimination Chamber was awesome. I knew going in that Edge would win but, man, what a great job they did in planning this one out. For a while there, you really thought Mysterio would win. Great high spots, great flow, great story. A four-star match for sure.

Loved seeing Trish back. I got a little sick of her towards the end there, I won't lie, but I think she'll be a great asset to Tough Enough.

Miz-Lawler was fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. For a guy who's 61 years old, Lawler looked damn good in that match and while I wish Miz had finally won without ANY assistance, he did win cleanly when it counted and left the bout looking stronger than he did going in.

As for the Raw Elimination Chamber? Predictable finish with Cena winning but still enjoyable. I'm looking forward to Cena-Miz but only if they play up the angle they had these two guys in a couple years back. I feel that's an area worth exploring.

Overall, a solid 8 rating on a scale of 1-to-10 for this show. Looking forward to Mania.

Watching the replay (much better quality than the live feed, thank God). This really is/was a good PPV.

What Lawler makes work is his physical ability (or lack thereof). He keeps moves simple and deliberate, and allows other elements (facial expressions, knowing *exactly* when to work the crowd) to do the bulk of the storytelling. I love watching guys like John Morrison who can do damn near anything in (or around) the ring, but there's certainly something to be said about a veteran like Lawler.

  3. Don't get me wrong . . . I'll take a good brunette or a redhead over a blond any day of the week, but trish is a blond and looks much much better as one. And it's too bad she's been deflated. Easily my favorite wrestlechick ever.

Wow, this may be the best thing Cena has ever done.

  5. Cena went Old School Cena.....I'm buying the eventual heel turn.

Anyone else notice the old 'Taker Ministry of Darkness cross hanging from the ceiling when they came back from commercial?

That Cena rap was a smart move to try to re-establish some coolness. Otherwise, he'd just look super-lame next to Rock.

    And I guess they're going a little PG-13 now.

    Rock's promo ... Cena's rap ... a Taker cross.
It's like Vince McMahon came out from his bomb shelter (built by the dependable Benoit Corporation), looked around and said, "Is ... is it all clear? Can we come out now?"
We'll know for sure if this Divas match ends with a game of strip poker and Taker sacrifices a goat at the top of the hour.

Or, maybe, just maybe, Jason Voorhees is coming to the WWE. He can't be any worse than Khali.

    HHH!

So now we'll have HHH-Taker, Cena-Miz with, what, Rock as special ref?

Also CM Punk-Orton and Del Rio-Edge. Shaping up to be a pretty damn good card.
