  1. I've always thought of MITB as WWE's version of Bracket Busters; as a stand-alone PPV, it stinks because it only force-feeds feuds that have no rhyme or reason 90 percent of the time. It should be a special event that is WM only since it normally opens the door for someone to go from trendy midcard sleeper to potential main event caliber performer.

At some point, WWE is going to have to be honest with themselves and realize that 14 PPVs at $45-$65 a pop is going to be a detriment to their long-term future. The buy rates are reaching dangerously low totals and -- in this economy -- the dollar of the average fan is going to pushed beyond the brink. The last two Raws (and the Elimination Chamber PPV) has built some momentum, but you can't ride 'Taker, Trips and Rock for the long haul.

Bet on it: Taker shows up on Smackdown Friday, Alberto Del Rio interrupts him, Teddy Long declares a match between the two, and Taker loses.

Bet $50 it doesn't go down like that.

Hell, give me $50,000 that doesn't happen.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense to me either. Maybe if it was a DQ or screwed up finish, but the WWE has always been reluctant to beat Undertaker clean in any match. I don't think Del Rio needs more credibility; he's pretty over to most people. I definitely could see him beating Edge at Mania, especially since Cena vs. Miz will probably end with a Cena victory and a face win, unless Cena does fulfill the IWC wet dream and go heel with The Rock there.

I think it just sunk in:

The Miz will be wrestling in the main, main event at Wrestlemania. Holy shit.

    And likely losing.

I know Miz can't hold the title forever no matter how badly I want it to happen, so losing to the top face at Wrestlemania is the best I can hope for. I can live with that.

The only way Cena doesn't come out of of WM with the title is if the Rock screws him somehow.

Which I wouldn't mind one bit.

You sure you're not thinking of TLC?

And a guy who wasn't even in the company a year ago is headlining the other main event.
Even though we might still get HHH-Taker as the finale, this is one time the WWE can't be accused of playing it safe and not pushing its rising talent.

They started doing MITB as a PPV last year, too. They have a thing for making successful gimmick matches into their own show.

If Money in the Bank has to be its own show, I'd rather keep it in the summer but keep it at one match.

The reasoning: It's a bit to close to the Royal Rumble, which is also the big "anyone can win it" match to propel a wrestler immediately into the title picture, in terms of the calendar. King of the Ring filled that summer spot nicely years ago with an annual show. Money in the Bank can do that again.
