Why do they consistently fuck the SD! roster?

Because Smackdown is the B show. They never come out and say it, but Raw is considered the flagship, and Smackdown is a step below.

But, why? Why can't the shows be equal?

Loving this Miz spot. This is tre-fucking-mendous. I think they did more in that 5-minute segment to make him a legitimate threat than they've done in the last five months.

That was awesome. I still don't think he's going over in a program that has Cena and The Rock involved, but he really did regain a bunch of heat with that five minutes.

Actually, having the Rock involved is the one way I could see it happening. They keep playing up the Cena-Rock feud, have them distract each other and the Miz is the one focused on the actual match. He wins at Wrestlemania (maybe with interference from Rock) and you have a surprise ending; the coveted Cena-Rock feud everyone wants; and a bonafide heel champion taking the next step.

Now, more than likely, they'll tease the Rock-Cena dissension at Mania; Both of them hit their finishers on Miz; and Cena walks out the champ. But a man can dream, can't he?

Because SD airs on freaking SciFi.

Get on a real -- and better -- channel than that, and we'll talk. And yes, I know SciFi is under the Universal umbrella ...

It's the WWE. They do a lot of things that don't make sense.

Which is a shame, because for a long time, Smackdown was more entertaining than Raw. Around when Heyman was doing the writing, I'd say, 2003 or so. And for a while, they did keep the brands separate, which made it more special when one would invade the other. Now, of course, it's crap.

I wasn't in love with tonight's Raw. There was maybe 10 minutes of total wrestling in it. Didn't care about Undertaker coming out to Johnny Cash. His promo was OK, and it's a little more intrigue to have it be a no-holds barred match.

Orton/Punk had a typical build. Another punt, and Punk beats R-Truth in 2 minutes. Whoop-de-damn-do. And as an aside, how weak does it make Cena look that it took him months to figure out Nexus and Orton's going through them one-by-one each and every week?

Also, hated Cole running down the Divas. Yeah, they haven't done wonders in the ring for the past couple of years (although Natalya and Beth tried), but try to give them a little bit of credibility, please?

The Cole/JBL/Austin segment was pretty good, especially Cole's reaction to Austin signing the contract. Made me feel a lot better. For a few minutes, I wasn't too pleased with the idea of JBL getting the ref spot. Hadn't seen him in a couple of years, and I was worried that there would be no psychology to the match. There still won't be with Austin, and we already know the ending, but at least it'll be more entertaining.

Originally, I thought we were seeing a botched finish with Sheamus and his foot, until that is, he challenged Bryan for the belt. Seems like they're just getting thrown together for the heck of it. Oh, well.

Ziggler/Morrison looked like they could have a really good match, if given time. However, they weren't. And of course, you know, next week, LayCool will help Vickie win, securing her job, and that'll set up Morrison/Trish/someone else vs. Dolph/Laycool w/Vickie at WM. Another group thrown together.

Wasn't too impressed with Cena's hip-hop this week. Fell pretty flat compared to his rap two weeks ago. Miz's performance with the People's Elbow and his promo were excellent. And yeah, it seemed like a fan got in the ring before Miz's promo. I miss the old days when the wrestler would just beat the shit out of any fan that gets in.

Raw is live and has more history, but I'm guessing it's mostly TV. Originally and for some time the two brands were treated equally, but I think once the UPN/WB drama started, WWE began putting emphasis on Raw as the A show. Smackdown has been on UPN, CW and MyNetwork TV, subject to preemptions (particularly in baseball season, when New York and Los Angeles would routinely bump Smackdown for Mets/Dodgers games). Plus Smackdown is on Fridays, whereas Raw is on a Monday night timeslot that has seen wrestling in some form since the 80's with Prime Time Wrestling.

They'll probably never come right out and say Smackdown is a feeder show, because that'll give viewers more reason to walk away or not make it appointment viewing.

When they told HBK he would be leading this year's HOF class, do you think they warned him they would be inducting his old flame also?

I thought HBK referred to Sunny banging Bret Hart with the "Sunny Days" comment ...
