I think in both cases, it was more of a "wait am I really doing this ... ok fine I will" thing, a reaction of shock that they were in that position. Slater and Gabriel flat refusing to do it was something else, though.

I think they're teasing dissent WAY too early, even if it's a red herring and they tie it up next week. They all appeared to be solidly behind their new leader two weeks ago. And, other than Otunga, who had problems with Barrett as leader, outside that horribly contrived "hire Cena or we kick you out" angle before the PPV?

They could have set something up where Barrett appears to be on the outs, goes to Smackdown, then Nexus attacks him ... only no they're actually helping him attack whoever. Then a couple of Nexus guys flip to Barrett and be part of the Smackdown Nexus. It would also help explain why Barrett hasn't said a word about being kicked out, or even shown the slightest inclination to extract revenge.

Did they panic because it was well publicized that Cena was injured in a match against Barrett that they had to rush him onto Raw and do a clunky angle removing him? Because this feels like bad improv.

Not sure if there's anyone else they can add to the stable (Mason Ryan is being golden ticketed to the main roster as the new Batista, so probably not him). And nobody's watching NXT, so who in hell cares if they pick up any season 4 guys? Season 2 has already been picked clean of the best guys (Riley, Husky, McGuillicutty, Kavah never mind). I don't imagine Titus O'Neal or Lucky Cannon add much sizzle to the stable, and does anyone even remember them? (I would like to see Percy Watson reform the South Beach Boys tag team or whatever it was called with Darren Young, who certainly has nothing better to do).

The beatdowns were staged and, therefore, painless.

That beatdown with the belts must have hurt like hell, though.

There was one thing that Punk said last night, where he said that not only were they going to control Raw, they were going to control the WWE.

Maybe Barrett will lead Slater and Gabriel to Smackdown to take over there as part of a plot with Punk? Seems very convoluted to me.

I haven't watched in, well, forever, and mostly follow what you guys are saying (and other websites when a free moment or two pops up).

But it seems like one day Barrett was in charge of his group, and the next day, he was just gone? How did that take place? And was it all within a week's time?

I had imagined, though I never put it to paper, an alternate booking in which Cena vanquished Nexus once and for all and put them on the shelf for a month or two to retool. Then they show up en masse on Smackdown, as they did on Raw last summer, and wreak havoc.

The difference is that Teddy Long has embraced their arrival (or someone TBD fires Long) and have given them full control of the show. Nexus is then challenged by a handful of young stars, and in the process, Smackdown evolves into the offical feeder show for Raw, with the most over guys moving, to be replaced by younger wrestlers or wrestlers who need to rehab their body or image.

In essence, Smackdown is considered the B show anyway -- might as well make it official.

    Basically, yes.

Cena drops 23 chairs on Barrett, he's out of commission.

Punk called out Cena, they talked, blah, blah, blah. Nexus comes out end of show, Otunga says they're under new management, blah, blah. They beat up Cena, then Punk comes out, beats him up, then they do the fist salute.

Week after, Punk and Barrett argue, Punk tells Barrett that if he loses the 3-way cage match, he's out. During match, Punk climbs cage, pulls armband off Barrett, Orton later wins.

Later that week, Barrett magically appears on Smackdown, beats on Big Show. No explanation. Last night on Raw, Show comes on (explains that the GM allowed him to appear), barely (if at all? I don't recall) mentions Barrett, and they're having a match for Smackdown.

The WWE is getting like "Lost" Stuff is never explained, and eventually, it somehow gets resolved.

del Rio showing up on Raw was weird, too, especially considering they still billed him as a Smackdown wrestler.

They can bring this guy back to play the polar bear:

Reason why they're doing that is to get the "contenders'" names out there. It's why Big Show was on Raw talking about stuff that happened on SmackDown, now yes, they used him in the Otunga beatdown segment, but that was extra.

They do it to tease contenders going after whatever title they want. Plus, I wouldn't mind seeing "Dos Caras Jr." (Del Rio) on Raw just to get him away from Mysterio.

Oh, and for the love of all that's holy, FIRE R. TRUTH!

I don't consider myself a slow man, mentally, but I'm just not following the Nexus storyline at all. Makes absolutely no sense.

As for Shawn, I could believe that the guy is truly retired from full-time wrestling as he seems like one of the few who have a life outside of the ring. I've always had the impression that he became a true family man and someone heavily involved in church life.

Guys like Flair will never leave. It's all they've ever known. Sure, they may have tried to branch out in business ventures, but they didn't have anything else in their personal lives to connect with. Other than wrestling.

Of course, I believe that Stone Cold is done for good simply because his neck is ruined.

Apparently, Shane Helms isn't the biggest fan of Michaels:

Yeah, Helms has been on an anti-Michaels tweet rant for a couple of months now. Everybody knows Michaels was a total asshole in his early days, before the hiatus. And, for all we know, maybe he displayed signs of it backstage after his comeback and was just able to keep it under wraps.

However, Helms looks pathetic through all these little posts. Like he's trying desperately to stay in the spotlight by posting bitter rants against one of the business' biggest stars.
