Could be, but I hope Wyoming can rebound for a few quality wins in conference. They need it since their OOC schedule is garbage. CSU can make a run and don't overlook Boise. Smoked Creighton and took down Wyoming in Laramie.
I think they get at least four, and hopefully five since the RPI is second. It's a tough, tough conference and road wins are at a premium.

Moddy, I know Anthony Grant is your man, but he's doing a half-assed job in Tuscaloosa these days. Can't decide on a lineup, multiple players regressing, still pouting after losses and pulling bush-league stunts with media, team chemistry remains a wreck. Was Shaka Smart the total brains behind the outfit?

Down go the Dookies! Dickie V was surprisingly upbeat considering his team went down. Man, CJ Leslie is a beast.

Duke lost because mike krzyzewski wanted them too. It's a learning experience to lose in January to. Conference opponent.

They've been flying way under the radar so far, but Southern Miss is looking more and more like a legitimate NCAA Tournament team. They smoked Houston at home today in a game that was over by halftime. Eagles ran off a 19-0 run to end first half and coasted thru the second half.

USM is 13-4 and their OOC is pretty good. Their losses, all on the road, are by 10 to Arizona in a game they led for long stretches, by 6 at Wichita State, by 8 at New Mexico State and 8 at La. Tech. They got a steal when Larry Eustachy left for Colorado State by getting Donnie Tyndall away from Morehead State. It's like night and day out there.

Michigan as the last undefeated team. Wow.

John Beilein is one of the premier coaches in America yet he could probably walk down the street in any city in the country outside of Ann Arbor and no one would even recognize him because ESPN doesn't cream its jeans over him.

I don't think any team he's left has matched the success it enjoyed when he coached there. Well, maybe one has, since UR got to the Sweet 16 two years ago and never did under Beilein, but Canisius and WVU haven't. His son Patrick is in coaching now too.

Beilein is a reason I get into it with my fellow Hoosiers as they disagree that Tom Crean is only the fourth or fifth-best coach in the conference.

In a big game, I would take Izzo, Beilein, and Matta. And, with equal talent? Tubby Smith over Crean.

Jeff Capel, Pat Knight and Billy Gillispie didn't last much longer after losing at home to Baylor and Texas A&M in the same season, but I imagine John Calipari will get at least another year.

Matta never impresses me with his in-game coaching. He's a great recruiter who teaches defense as well as anyone in the game.

Dick Vitale never thinks Duke will lose, but when the Dookies do, he never acts surprised.

Missouri's transition to the SEC continues in style as the Tigers get clobbered at Ole Miss.

I heard the crowd was chanting, "Big 12 rejects."
