I don't know if Ole Miss is for real, or if they're just the luckiest MFers on the planet, but they pulled one out from deep in their colon tonight.

Marshall Henderson, who seems to be one of the these cocky little white boys you just love to hate, hit an off-balance 35-footer to force OT against Vanderbilt, and the Confederates went on to win 89-79. That puts Ole Miss at 14-2, and 3-0 in the SEC for the first time since 2006.

Vandy hit 17 shots from 3-point range, the last one with 3.2 seconds left in regulation, but somehow failed to get a man in the face of the Rebs' best shooter in the final sequence. Of course, it wouldn't have mattered if the Commode-ors hadn't missed 13 of 23 free throws. Go figure.

Ole Miss has a good record, but losing to Middle Tennessee State and Indiana State can't help the NCAA Tourney resume.

Plus, the Rebels' best non-home win is who exactly?

If Ole Miss beats Florida or unranked Kentucky, then maybe I'll change my mind. But no one in Ole Miss' six-game winning streak to open the season NOR anyone in their six-game current winning streak (outside of Mizzou - that's a good quality win) is worth a darn.

That win against Mizzou came with Bowers sidelined by a knee injury he suffered at the end of the Alabama game. I'm not sure we learned much from that game except that Mizzou can't afford to lose Bowers for long stretches of time and that everyone should have taken the Runnin' Rebels -5 that night. I still think they're the fourth best team in the SEC this year, and that should be enough to get them a tourney bid, even though the bottom of the SEC has been dreadful in the noncon this year.

Florida beat Missouri much worse in basketball than football. Phil Pressey falls out of the Heisman Trophy race after this performance.

Three good games going on right now:

    Syracuse-Louisville
    Oregon-UCLA
    Creighton-Wichita St.

Great game today. Syracuse played like crap too. MCW looked like a douche.

This Butler-Gonzaga game has been pretty darn good all night. Butler up 1 with a minute to go.

    that's a ridiculous finish to Gonzaga-Butler. Wow . . . the things 19-year-olds do.

Holy shit, what a finish. Terrible pass by Stockton (words that haven't been typed often) leads to a floater as time expired for a Butler win.
