Northern Illinois shot 1-31 from the floor in the first half today and trailed Eastern Michigan 18-4 at halftime.

EMU now leads 28-13 with 8 minutes left in the game.

God bless the Badgers. Nothing like today's thrilling 45-44 win: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=330260275

Fast break points: NC State 20, North Carolina 0. Wolfpack doing to Heels what Canes did to Duke.

Is it crazy to wonder if there is any point shaving going on at UNC? There is too much talent for that team to be this bad and right now it looks like they are missing shots on purpose.

The Northern Illinois recap of the game is a true classic in SID history: http://www.niuhuskies.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/012613aab.html

That box score is just unbelievable. I mean, shooting 37 percent while taking only 35 shots for the entire game -- and that was the winning team.

I guess 13-for-35 shooting looks pretty good next to 8-for-61 -- that's 13 percent. But at least NIU finally made a 3-pointer.

That 18-4 halftime score is straight out of the pre-shot-clock era.

Heels have cut it from 27 to 11 in about 5 minutes, it seems. Under 6 to play.

I was thinking of that 7-0 halftime score in the Duke-NC game in 1979, but your point is taken.
