Well ... the Hurricanes were not cheered this time at the ESA.

But they earned the win, and they've long been for real in the ACC.

Kansas State at Oklahoma was awful basketball. KSU won on 2 FTs with 5 secs to play after Oklahoma overcame putrid shooting to tie it at 50. Okie's last attempt was futile: Dude gets inbound pass and kind of stands on his side of mid-court like a doof before giving it to a guy who then had to rush a hurried 3-pointer that hit nothing but air. Awful basketball.

And why is every (at least it seems that way) Baylor game this season on ESPN or ESPN2?

Syracuse has "NEW YORK'S COLLEGE TEAM" on the side wood near the scorer's table.

    1) Is this a new thing?

    2) Chutzpah.

It has been there for at least a season or two.

    Never even noticed.

Cuse started game 10-0 then Notre Dame scored 11 straight. Now it's back and forth. Notre Dame passes the ball beautifully.

Rick Barnes needs a new job. He has hit a wall at Texas. A job about half as good, like Clemson's, would suit him well.

Texas' fan base, which likes to make people think it cares about basketball, is calling for his head.

I didn't think you were ducking. That's not you. I recall you responding very quickly when I posted a video of the Mustapha Farrakhan-Javi Rodriguez dunk. :)

And my Wahoos certainly aren't immune to inconsistency issues, either. NCSU isn't the only school mentioned in this post that lost to Wake. And the Hoos followed up that NC State win with a loss at dog-ass GT. And they didn't even play that bad in that game - just went ice-cold at the end.

I think the biggest takeaway is that there's no such thing as a gimme road win in the ACC this year. And also that the Carter kid from GT is going to be a beast.

That loss to Georgia Tech might have been close to a kill shot for UVa's tourney hopes. Lot of basketball to be played still, but the Hoos just have so many bad losses on the resume. Can't afford another one, and now they probably have to at least split with Duke, win at Maryland and possibly win at UNC, which can certainly be done.

Hoos are 5-3 and I'm convinced that 12 wins in the ACC won't be enough for them to get in, not with the bad losses on their resume. So that's two more losses that they could conceivably take and they still have to play Duke twice, at Miami, at Maryland, at UNC and at FSU.

I can't watch Wisconsin. A bit of sarcasm there, just in case you didn't know that. Can't quality defense lead to more offense?
They are not a good team to watch. I enjoy college hoops, just not Wisconsin. Never have with Ryan, and never will. It's slow, at times sloppy and boring. Deal with it.

Florida took quite the beating tonight against Arkansas.
