Who does that leave as the trendy never-ranked-#1 team?

Miami could very well win out between now and their next game against Duke on March 2nd. Also, Gonzaga really shouldn't lose again in the regular season. So I'd say one of those two.

Arkansas is 13-1 at home, 0-7 on the road. I guess the Bud Bowl Mystique is back.

I'm right there with you on that, Cosmo. They've got just about zero margin of error at this point. I disagree with you slightly in that I think they have a good shot to get into the tournament with seven more wins. An couple of wins in the ACC tournament (for once) would help a lot, but the Wahoos tend to shit the bed once the postseason hits.

Then again, your Hokies from a couple of years back would seem to be a cautionary tale. The 2010-2011 team won 22 games (albeit just nine in conference). They also beat Duke that year and won two games in the ACC tournament, which is likely a better resume than UVa is going to finish with.

In other ACC basketball news: Miami is really fucking good.

And Florida Gulf Coast and Indiana State are really, really good. :D (All jokes aside those aren't bad teams, but how the hell does a team that lost to FGCU look like it might be able to run the table in ACC?)

UVa is so tough to figure out. There's not a sure win or sure loss left on the schedule, but it just about takes wins versus Duke and Miami just to balance out the RPI damage done by the ODU loss. Beating NC State and winning at Wisconsin is nice, but you got to take care of business against the bottom of a not-so-good ACC.

The problem for Tony is this system can keep them in games against teams with a lot more talent, but it also prevents them from running away from teams they should blow out.

My bold prediction, UVa heads to Dayton for a 12/12 play-in, er First Four, game and Wahoos take delight in getting to hear Seth Greenberg complain about the selection committee again despite not being in Blacksburg anymore.

Shane Larkin is ridiculous, and only getting better. That team is just built for a deep tourney run. So much experience and size up front. Durand Scott can be nasty when he wants to. And every once in a while, when you think you have everyone covered, Rion Brown comes out of nowhere and rains 3s on you. Can't wait for the Miami-Duke rematch in Cameron March 2.

I am sorry but yellow numbers on yellow uniforms should be FUCKING ILLEGAL.

Since this has become a running ACC thread, worth noting that Michael Snaer of FSU made his third game-winning basket -- two at the buzzer, one with three seconds left -- in the past 12 days. Tonight it was a driving layup two win by 2 at Georgia Tech.

Tell Adidas. See also: NBA Christmas uniforms and a bunch of major NCAA schools with contracts with Adidas.

They have to be nightmarish for on-court officials.

With fewer than 10 minutes to go in the GAME, Kansas has 27 points on 24% shooting and is losing by 12 points to TCU, a team that's lost its past eight games.
