A UVa win over Miami wouldn't change the ACC race, but it would look mighty nice on the Hoos' resume.

The Pac-12 is an absolute cluster. Cal goes into McKale and beats Arizona, so there's a three-way tie at the top with Arizona, Oregon and UCLA at 8-3. Arizona State is one game back at 7-4, and if Ralphie wins at Oregon State, you'd then have Ralphie, Stanford, Cal and the winner of USC-Washington later tonight tied for fifth at 6-5.

Illinois should be in after today. Beat Butler in Maui, IU and Ohio St. at home and road wins over Gonzaga and Minnesota.

Provided they improve on a 4-7 Big Ten mark in the remaining eight games, yes. Probably have to finish 9-9 in conference, 8-10 at worst.

Right. Obviously, they can't tank like last year. If they go 8-10 in conference and win a Big Ten tourney game, that should be more than enough.

True, especially with the strength of the conference.

So who's the new No. 1? Duke? Miami?

Why would it be Miami? Miami lost to Florida-Gulf Coast and Indiana State. Duke, Gonzaga, Syracuse and Michigan State all were ahead of Miami in the last poll and didn't lose.

Saw someone post their ballot on Twitter or Facebook yesterday, and they had Miami at the top for some reason.

And they were missing two starters against Gulf Coast. Not sure the Indiana State loss is as easily explainable.

Indiana will be No. 1 again.

    1) Indiana
    2) Duke
    3) Michigan
    4) Miami
    5) Gonzaga
    6) Florida
    7) Syracuse
    8) Michigan State
    9) Arizona
    10) Kansas

    Better question:

Who is going to win the NCAA Tournament this year?

I think Indiana and Michigan are clearly the two favorites. But it's such a screwy year, either could get easily get knocked off. But those are the two teams with the best combination of NBA talent and valuable experience.

NBA talent and NCAA championships overlap but are not identical. [/dukefangrrl]
