Dook will be No. 1 because they're Dook, but I'd vote Miami No. 1.

I don't think the losers last week will slide very far. The most Gonzaga climbs will be to fifth.

No, but it's an important factor.

I am bothered, maybe too much at this point, by Miami's stunningly awful losses.

I can overlook the two awful losses in the first three games. Were there contributing factors, e.g., injuries, to the poor performance in the Christmas tournament?

I know Reggie Johnson missed a bunch of games early on. Not sure how those line up with the U's losses.

He didn't play against Arizona or Indiana State, it looks like.

    That definitely sheds some light.

Your question was, "Who's the new No. 1?" not, "Who should be No. 1?"

Indiana State is not a bad loss. Sycamores beat Wichita in Wichita and crushed Creighton at home, along with the Miami win.

Why would you rank Duke ahead of Miami?

Poll is out (per Twitter): Indiana 1, Duke 2, Miami 3.

Especially since Miami obliterated Duke a couple weeks ago.

It comes down to: Duke was ranked ahead of Miami to start the year.

And it's a really dumb reason.

Miami should be No. 1 (right now).

Killed Duke. Beat Carolina twice (including by 26). Won 11 or 12 in a row. Unbeaten in ACC play.

Is there something more the the Canes should be doing right now?
