Oh, I was at that game. I'm well aware of the Hoos' tendency to trip over their own dicks.

Honestly, difficulty of winning on the road aside, I'm not even that sure that beating FSU would qualify as "sneaking out a win." They've been dreadful.

They have a hidden gem, too, in Trey Ziegler. He's much better than his production would indicate, though he may not be the ideal backcourtmate for Tray Woodall, despite the name synergy. Trey Tray Tre would be a great boyband.

Duke is at worst a top 5 team, though, would you not agree?

Yeah, getting cornholed at Wake is no way to go through life.

No. I do not think that Duke is a top five team.

I'm beginning to have trouble telling whether I'm on this thread or the Kate Upton one.

    "Not perfect! Not perfect!"

Watched most of the Pitt-Cincy game the other day. Pitt is pretty decent.

The best passing team I've seen this season is Notre Dame. They move beautifully without the ball, and the ball movement is immaculate. Sometimes they struggle to score it but not because they didn't move the ball.

I agree. Notre Dame uses two pass-first point guards to great effect. They constantly get their shooters open. And the Fighting Irish will go down in the first or second round because Mike Brey is the worst tournament coach in history.

And because teams that rely heavily on the 3 tend to lose in tournament play because they can't string together that many great shooting games in succession.

Plenty of teams have advanced to the Sweet 16 in the past decade relying even more on three-pointers than Notre Dame does, certainly than Notre Dame did in the Luke Harangody years.

    Butler comes to mind.

I'm not saying those teams never get through. And I'm not disputing that Mike Brey is a poor tournament coach.

I'm just saying that I feel like 3-point reliant teams tend to lose early. It'd be interesting to investigate. Another thing: Notre Dame's record is always skewed because it is so damned good at home, and not nearly as good on the road. That's true of all college teams, but moreso w/r/t Notre Dame.
