Dredging up the argument from a few pages back, I don't see the hangup with calling Miami the top team in the nation. They're undefeated with their full-strength lineup. They keelhauled Duke when they were No. 1. Given a ballot, I'd probably have the Canes on top.

Of course, I also appreciate Eamonn Brennan's argument here, which basically boils down to: Now that the top tier of teams are largely indistinguishable, I can choose the top team in the country based on how good they are, not based on the amount of time it's been since their last loss compared to other teams. And there's definitely a logic to it -- an Indiana team that rebounds from a weird road loss to convincingly beat Ohio State in Columbus shouldn't be automatically dropped below highly-ranked teams whose only claim to the spot is that they didn't lose this week (even though Duke barely beating BC is more embarassing than Indiana losing to Illinois)

Very bad looking injury to Nerlens Noel in Kentucky's loss to Florida. Looks like he did something to his knee when landing and then slammed into the goal support. He was yelling in pain and had to be carried off the court.

Iowa is, at best, an NIT team. The only way they're in the NCAAs is if they win the Big 10 tourney. And there's a better chance I'll be the next Pope than there is of that happening.

Michigan laying the steamiest stinkiest turd of the season in East Lansing. Sweet jeebus.

First of all, I said "somewhat sexy" and they became that, in my eyes, after they beat Kansas. Looking back, I see they are sub-.500 so I will retract my label.

Carry on. (BTW, they are at least sexier this season than Mississippi State hoops)

MSU was getting points from guys that didn't even have names on their jerseys. That's when you know you have just destroyed your biggest rival.

If Indiana, Michigan and Michigan State all hold serve at home and Ohio State steals one from Michigan State in Columbus, we're looking at all three tied for the title at 14-4 and 1-1 against each other.

    That would be awesome.

But it would be even more fun if Michigan State steals the title and Indiana gets a lower NCAA seed than both Michigan schools based on a horsedung nonconference schedule.

Holy shit, I just glanced at first and thought Noel was lying on the ground and all we could see was the bottom of his leg sticking out. I thought the actual Noel was someone who was blocking our view of the guy on the ground. LEGS DO NOT BEND THAT WAY.
