Carolina looks pretty damn good so far at Duke, which looks shlumpy and poor.

UNC 28-18. Bulleck has a beautiful shot.

Well illustrated. Although, while I agree with your general sentiment, I do dispute the notion that there are 11 guys there that were "clearly not" worth first round picks. If you look how the average "college superstar" type first round pick fares in the league, even the guys categorized as busts or second rounders here did fairly well by comparison.

The three HS guys that fell to the second round (Rashard Lewis, Monta Ellis, Louis Williams) each clearly ended up proving that should've been taken in the first round. Those picks turned out to be steals. If they were re-drafted based upon what we know now, all three would be first rounders, Lewis and Ellis would be lottery picks.

And, with the exception of Wood and Ebi, I believe all those classified as busts have had careers justifying at least a later first round pick, although admittedly not the high lottery position where a few were taken. Hell, even the poster child for the HS to pro bust, Kwame Brown, is still in demand 12 years later. How many four year college superstars last a dozen years in the League?

The revisionist tale about how the high schoolers were supposedly failing at an alarming rate is pure myth. They were doing better, on average, than the draftees who had the glorious college careers. And they were doing as well or better, on average, than your average first rounder in other sports like baseball and football.

Amir Johnson is way underrated, as well. And Andray Blatche is a complete headcase but has some talent, as he has shown most obviously this year.

Matt Painter just got tossed. That was entertaining.

Certainly pretty good value for a 56th pick. Pistons handled him well, but didn't get the payoff.

Blatche could be a monster if he gave a shit.

His old runningmate JaVale McGee is an even more talented idiot. And he went to college!

McGee may be the ultimate if-he-gave-a-shit player.

I can't believe Carolina got whipped by 30 at Duke last night.

Duke needed 25 more points. But they were on their way, they were.

Ole Miss is fading fast, including a 2-point loss to A&M last night. Alabama keeps getting mentioned as a fringe bubble team but can't score and will get plowed under in Gainesville and Oxford. We could easily be looking at two bids. (Insert Mizzougrad spring football joke here.)

Found this in Jeff Goodman's column....

Circle March 2 on your calendar as a day to sit on your couch. Louisville is at Syracuse (12 p.m. ET), Butler heads to VCU (12 p.m.), Michigan State travels to Michigan (5:15 ET), Miami plays at Duke (6 ET) and Arizona faces UCLA in Pauley (9 ET).

Jesus. I'm not one to sit around for an entire Saturday and watch college basketball, but I may do that next weekend. That's a great slate of games.
