John Swofford clearly made a few phone calls around 12:30. ACC isn't going to let the Heels lose today.

OK, after watching second half, the Heels weren't letting the Heels lose that game. Only drama now is if they'll hit 100. I thought my Wahoos were supposed to play defense?

Stick a fork in Big Blue. Cats trail Tennessee 50-26 at halftime.

Did Frank Martin ever have a team at K-State that just quit on him? Because I have yet to see Sakerlina do so much as lift its hands above the waist on defense. The bird-flipping goalie was more committed to his team than these stiffs.

    Yo, Headbutt:

Good on the Terp players for understanding what the suits don't--that Duke/Maryland is supposed to matter.

Turg didn't seem too happy about the the move the Big Ten in the postgame interview with ESPN. He's one of the most competitive people I've ever seen, and as good as the Big Ten is right now, I don't think he took the Maryland job to go against Izzo and Crean. He wants to coach against, and beat, Roy and K.

The Big Ten has better and younger coaches than the ACC.

Good on Mike for warning Maryland that if it feels like outsiders in the ACC, it could be even worse in the Big Ten.

(Sorry, Headbutt ... it could well work out for Maryland as an institution and an athletic program. Hope it does. But for a fanbase that has chirped that it doesn't feel included in the ACC, does anyone think Maryland will feel more included in the Big Ten given its geography and tradition?)

Big Ten fans giggling at Maryland's football stadium during the season won't play too well.

VCU plays balls to the wall more than any team I have ever seen.

And that includes the old Loyola teams because they never played defense.

9 of 13 players on Kentucky are Freshman or Sophomores and Calipari has only 1 graduating senior. 5 recruits apparently have signed letters and Dakari Johnsopn has orally committed for next season.

Aside from the graduating senior (Julius Mays), how many kids are going to the NBA this year from Kentucky and how many kids is Calipari going to push out of the program to make room for what may be a 6 player freshman class?
