    Yes, but what year?

Edit: Ahh, fuck it. UNLV in 1987 for the Pacific Coast Athletic Association.

Did Vitale put Oladipo and Jordan in the same sentence last night, or was that the Bud Light playing tricks with my hearing?

I've never been that crazy about Pitt hoops. You will probably find that shocking, but they have not done a thing for me.

Virginia isn't dead, but it's on life support. The Cavs will probably need to win out, or at the very least, beat Duke next Thursday and hope their only loss in the five is at Florida State. It's the only other game in that five that would be excuseable. Though no one has gone to Boston College this season and had an easy time of it. So that's going to be a sneaky tough game for the Hoos.

The other positive is that Virginia is going to get a good game on a neutral floor to open the ACC tournament, probably against UNC or NC State. So there's another opportunity.

Maryland is done. The only good thing on its profile was the home win over Duke and the Terps just negated that with a bad loss to BC. Tournament teams need to win that game.

That post had less than zero to do with your post about Pitt, and everything to do with Indiana's win last night.

The end of the Miami-UVa game was pretty solid. You just knew UVa would heat up from 3 and it did, but man, Larkin is legit. So quick with great court vision. Found a wide open Johnson for the bucket at the end.

And VCU got absolutely housed last night, too, at Saint Louis. Not hatin' that.

Saint Louis is very good, especially at home. That didn't surprise me a bit. Well, maybe the margin surprised me. The result didn't.

Shane Larkin should be ACC player of the year.

Saint Louis is outstanding at home. They ate Butler's lunch, too.

A-10 gets in how many teams?

    Butler
    Saint Louis
    VCU
    LaSalle

Do they get one more out of the Charlotte-Temple-UMass scrum? Even St. Joseph's has a good win over Notre Dame.

Think you're right. The Miami loss was like the loss to UNC in that it wasn't a bad loss, but a missed opportunity for a good win. Those are dwindling fast. The Hoos need to do one of three things to get in:

    - Beat Duke, either at home or in the tournament
    - Get a game with Miami in the tournament and beat them
    - Win the tournament

I think a Duke win at home is the most likely of those, by orders of magnitude. There's just something about those Miami jerseys that prevents UVa from remembering how to play basketball late in games.

I wouldn't put it past Maryland to win the tournament, either. They don't shit the bed every time the regular season ends, unlike some teams I can think of.

I know this is a tough thing to say around these parts, but is VCU's footing starting to get a tiny bit soft? Their non-conference schedule was strong, but they lost to most of the good teams they played, Memphis aside. And they haven't beaten any of the other tournament hopefuls you mentioned (not including your scrum), although they do get Butler at home.
