He should have taken a three. I wonder if he knew how many points he had.

Loved that dunk. Eat it, Ames.

Was it just me or was the reffing in that KU game kind of an embarrassment?

Johnson said on SC after the game that he should have dribbled it out so I think he's absolved.

Yet how many times have I seen a HOME underdog throw it down like that in the final seconds? If Iowa State is upset about it, boo freakin hoo.

Actually, I think it's quite the opposite. All this talk about how scoring's down in college basketball, yet we had a game tonight where both teams kept knocking down jump shots and 3-pointers. Refreshing to see.

Certainly more fun to watch than last week's KU-Oklahoma State game.

I was talking about the blown 5th foul on Withey in regulation, the no call on the drive to the basket as time wound down and the phantom calls against KU in OT that helped ISU get back in the game.

Yeah, that was a mess. But Kentucky won a controversial game at Vandy, Gonzaga-Butler had some harried moments late, etc. Refs won't always get games right. In fact, more often that not, we're going to gripe about it. I just accept (most of the time, anyway) that they will miss calls and try not to worry about it.

And that's why my take on the game was that two teams could, honest-to-goodness, hit jump shots and 3-pointers. Loved seeing that.

Leave it to a BBOC fan to overlook the ref clusterfuckery that benefited his team.

Something had to have been called there. Block, charge.....something. To pass on that, but to get a chippy one going for the loose ball on the floor.......

For Shaw to do this is one thing. To go online blabbering about them going to take a look at it is another.

How about if Iowa State just makes another free throw at the end for a three point lead at 91-88 instead of two?

The Cyclones can moan all they want but they were up 5 in the final minute and didn't close. Iowa State was superb for nearly all of that game. They shouldn't hang their heads and I would have been fine with ISU winning.

This isn't 1977 6-on-6 Iowa girls basketball between Manly High and Fertile High. Close the game next time.

Combined 30 3's made on 66 attempts last night (ISU; 17-41: KU; 13-25)
