And for me, Syracuse titles obviously. For some reason I keep thinking Wallace's group won it all.

Lost to a Kentucky team at the beginning of a very impressive three-year run. When it comes to teams that have made the finals, that Syracuse team was really weak outside of Wallace.

Gonzaga has earned the right to be ranked No. 1 and to be a 1-seed, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're the best team in the country. For all this talk about their being a power in their own right, and in many respects they are, their one trip to the Elite Eight happened as a Cinderella and at the start of their run of relevance. Otherwise, they're a strong team in a weak conference that hasn't been much of a threat from the second weekend on.

All of their hype is from 1999. Since then, they've not made a lot of noise considering George mason, Butler and VCU have all cashed in actual Final Four trips. Gonzaga's main accomplishment is getting close enough for Adam Morrison to cry on the court.

I'm trying to decide which is more authentic: crying after an emotional NCAA loss to cap a terrific senior season that fell short or cutting down the nets on Senior Night to commemorate a share of the conference title -- after you lost on Senior Night.

I totally supported the net cutting. Big cheerleader for that whole thing.

I guess I see it this way:

A few weeks ago you were giddy-happy-giddy-ecstatic-giddy-giddy-giddy galore when Indiana won a game as the No. 1 team. I understood and felt your giddiness: The Hoosiers won as the No. 1 team instead of being some middling 15-10 team that had just beaten No. 1. There is a big difference in those kinds of wins, enormous difference, and especially when Indiana is involved. It was a validation victory for Indiana.

Your emotions were authentic. I appreciated them.

Isn't that what sports is for? Thrill of victory, agony of defeat.

So I see people cut down Morrison's crying after a season-ending loss and wonder WTF?

I never said his crying was inauthentic. He did tank the final moments of a game in which his team had the last shot, his emotions were so raw.

I did say that is Gonzaga's most memorable tourney moment since the Elite Eight run: blowing that lead and Morrison collapsing. Have no doubt he was sincerely upset. Point was that Gonzaga is always this media darling, and it seldom lives up to the hype.

Wasn't the big issue with Morrison that he was crying and moping and had clearly given up while Gonzaga still had a chance to win?

I believe so. Was discussed pretty heavily here.

Video shows he's still hovering at other end of the court when the long pass is heaved for the prayer.

Poor kid is already finished when Afflalo goers to the line to try to ice it.

If you had Iona laying the points last night, put the gun down. It'll be OK.

Matt Brown fired at Missouri-Kansas City.

Now on Year 26 without an NCAA Tourney appearance since going D1.
