are Texas and UCLA playing in a library? I've seen more lively crowds in golf.

 

The best thing in small college basketball. Taylor University's annual Silent Night game. They pack the arena (2,700 in 2,500 capacity) and do nothing until the home team scores the 10th point, and then the place goes nuts.

That's one of those things that does nothing for me, what with my general soullessness.

Hopeful defector VCU laying waste to Alabama. In consecutive games, Anthony Grant's team has laid down on him at his alma mater and last employer. That can't help the old blood pressure.

 

Meanwhile in Chicago, Loyola and Blitz State play to commemorate a much bigger game 50 years ago when Babe McCarthy told the segregationists to get bent.

 

Great finish to that one, both in regulation and OT.

Games like that help me gradually shift into college B-ball mode.

 

The frontcourt is awful.
