Northwestern should be a lot more competitive in Big Ten football using that logic.

They way I understand it, the university allows a certain percentage of "special admissions" in each class and the basketball program essentially gets first choice.

Connecticut also won the Big East tournament in 2004. That means eight of the past 10 champions have won their conference tournament title. Maybe it's not a bad idea.

Yeah, I know there have been a few, usually REALLY dominant teams. I just wonder what the breakdown is.

As for Miami, what on earth took them so long to get good in basketball?

Bo Ryan is an asshole. He takes a routine halftime interview and uses it to embarrass a Sideline reporter. As a UW grad i don't care that he wins. I just want that dick to leave. Asshole.

Are you or have you been a sports journalist? That may be more relevant to the discussion.

That wasn't so bad. Those interviews are almost universally worthless, with similar responses. Wiscaaaaaansin fans should be careful what they wish for if they think Ryan is too much of a jerkface to be coach anymore. As an Indiana alum, I'd love to see him replaced.

    Why?

(actually seeking the answer; not a "Just CURIOUS!!!!" response. Geuninely interested)

Treatment of the media tends to matter more to members of the media.

I say that but am a pretty staunch counterexample. I wouldn't trade a single Alabama football win under Nick Saban for a more congenial attitude toward the reporters covering him. But I also think the media's sense of entitlement is ridiculous. We'd bury a coach for any misdoing, so why shouldn't they be hostile toward us?
