My guess is they'll be the No. 1 seed in Gary.

Not if you go by the RPI instead of the rankings. And that's what the NCAA does.

Good luck to you... and the SEC team, Big 10 champ, ACC 7 seed and MVC champ with you.

And RPI, to some extent, is a joke because the ACC is so chronically overvalued and a conference that hasn't won the NCAAs since 1955 is still rated as No. 1 or No. 2 nationally year after year. Garbage in, garbage out.

Miami was 0-3 against Florida, the only OOC team of substance it played. It was 0-3 against Florida State, 0-3 against Virginia, 1-2 vs. Clemson, lost its only game to NC State, went 1-2 against Virginia Tech, which didn't even make the ACC tournament, and played a grand total of four OOC road games, once of which was at a neutral site.

    That's a regional host resume?

I'm sure Purdue will be able to fight off any troublemakers

    Bracket: http://www.ncaa.com/brackets/baseball/d1

Kentucky is the two seed at Gary. Purdue is the No. 1.

    Texas is staying home.

Much like its basketball program, Virginia Tech was on the bubble and got left out. Too bad there is no NIT for baseball.

Yeah, Kentucky fizzled late in the year after such a dynamic start.
Mississippi State would've made some serious dough for NCAA if it had been selected to host.
The committee said being able to have regional equity with its host sites was the prevailing factor, so the field is determined more that way than with any other intangible.
Watching the ACC tourney title game, with its sparse final-day crowd, compared to what we saw in Birmingham for SEC, spoke volumes.
But the tourney will be fun to watch, as always, as the brackets play out.
Carry on, toward the Super Regionals and to Omaha.
I always enjoy watching the regionals.

Not only that, but the project was supposed to be done by the end of last season, and yet it STILL isn't done.

Purdue is about 90 minutes from Gary. Its first round opponent, Valparaiso, is about 30 minutes away.

Not without (bad) precedent. The NCAA moved Cal's Super Regional last year to Santa Clara since Evans Diamond doesn't have lights.
