Espinosa has to start getting some hits before he can be considered a home run threat again. He showed promise before the All-Star Break last year, but has done nothing since.

and Stanley Cup OT ... and of all days for the other half of our department to call in sick, making me a one-man band with local rivals playing a late-afternoon high school baseball game as well. No clue as to what was going on until I couldn't find a Rangers-Caps box, then looked at the advisory wire. But, hey, no heavy lifting.

When Morse and Zimmerman are back, that lineup card is gonna be fun to fill out. Getting way ahead of myself, but do you hit Werth second and move Espinosa to 7th? Hopefully, Espinosa gets his head out of his ass before then and we don't have to worry about it. But it could look like this...

Desmond, Espinosa, Z'man, Morse, LaRoche, Werth, Harper, Ramos, pitcher.

    Yeesh.

    Why not:

Desmond, Werth, Zimmerman, Morse, LaRoche, Harper, Espinosa (Lombo), Ramos, pitcher?

I'd try Werth in the second spot, for sure.

    Or Harper?

I'm still not convinced, though, that Morse is coming back.

I think everyone in this town will take 15 victories in every 24 games. That will get you to postseason. Sure 15-9 looks sad after a 14-4 start but hell - the team survived a five-game losing streak and remains in first, albeit barely. Braves are pretty hot, too, after an 0-4 start.

I told My Son the Braves fan this could be a fun summer. We already have tickets for the Braves first visit here.

I can dig that. Especially if Espinosa keeps sucking. Big fan of Lombo.

I'll be there that Friday. And maybe more.

Davy has to move Harper up. And probably Ramos, too.

There was a situation last night where the game was potentially on the line, and he had two outs and Espinosa was up while those two waited. Not ideal.

Agreed. The other night, can't remember which, I watched as Nady and Chad Tracy stepped into the batter's box back-to-back with the game on the line. Guess what happened?

    Not ideal.

Braves-Phillies had about 12 hours from last pitch to first pitch today. Wish I was off. :D

I would put Harper in front of the bashers. Hell, maybe leadoff? Give him better pitches to hit and let him be able to run without LaRoche in front of him.

If a Phillies fan can't go to bed with a 6-0 lead and Halladay pitching and wake up with a win, it's gonna be a long season.

Watching Phil Humber miss his spot about 80 times last night against the Indians again reminded me how fluky a perfect game can be.
