If he compiled those numbers with a .180 BABIP, I'd agree, but his BABIP last year was .291, right around league average.

It's the fact that he strikes out 12.3 batters per nine innings that makes it less than lucky. Missing bats takes a lot of luck out of it.

Cubs' offense today didn't make it through the lineup a full three times. First time that's happened in a full-length MLB game since 2007.

I would be ecstatic if my team never made it through the lineup a full three times in a full-length MLB game.

That is a formula for guaranteed victory. You don't want to go 162-0?

I would. Which is why I made the above statement.

Yeah, I was agreeing with you and responding to Rick. A confusing post from me.

    Gotcha.

And the bases are loaded with no one out for Robertson. I'm uncomfortable. :D

Comprehension? The very first line of your post shows you have no place talking to anybody about comprehension.

I said it is easy to figure out from your post how many clean innings he had. My point was that you intentionally left that out. I'm not sure why you need me to spell that out for you.

His statistics from his entire career show that he needed to cut down on the baserunners to become a quality relief pitcher. That is one of the many things you aren't getting.

My initial point was that his first appearance was not comforting to Yankee fans. You countered by pointing to his relatively-high career WHIP, which really doesn't apply given how much he seemed to change as a pitcher starting last season. And you STILL aren't getting that point.

I apparently gave you too much credit. You can't seem to process the fact that his WHIP is right in line with other quality relievers and that controlling the number of baserunners is as much of a key to his success as his ability to miss bats. My mistake for thinking you could actually process numbers that don't involve only the Yankees.

And as for your assertion that he is adept at pitching out of trouble? How did that work out tonight?

Please try to keep up next time. Explaining all of these things to you is getting tiresome.
