I have to admit, OOP, comprehending your posts is quite a chore. First it was that Yankees fans should be uncomfortable with Robertson.

Then, when I say one game of loading the bases is no reason for concern because pitching with baserunners is not unusual for Robertson, and give the numbers that back that up, you switch to argue that he's as good as some of the best closers in the game.

So, no, I really have no clue what the fuck you are trying to say, and frankly, I don't really give a fuck anymore. You like arguing out of both sides of your mouth for the sake of arguing.

Seriously, they have no one to hit for Dwayne Frickin Wise with 2 outs in the 9th? Forget Pettite, can Strawberry come back?

So your failures in reading comprehension are my fault? Comical.

The claimed that Yankee fans shouldn't be nervous because loading the bases is unusual for Robertson, which looks pretty damn ridiculous tonight. You tried to back that up with his career WHIP, then switched your argument once I demonstrated how ridiculous that was given how different he has been as a pitcher since the beginning of the 2011 season.

I NEVER claimed he was as good as the best relievers in the game. I said his WHIP was better than many of them.

Are you even trying? If you are, that is quite sad.

One day after Ron Gardenhire says that Danny Valencia wouldn't be benched, Valencia is demoted to AAA by the Twins.

WTF are you talking about? I said Yankees fans should not be uncomfortable that Robertson loaded the bases because allowing baserunners was not unusual for him.

    Again --
Your assertion: Yankees fans should be uncomfortable that Robertson loaded the bases on May 8, in his first save opportunity.
My assertion: Yankees fans should not have been uncomfortable because he is known to allow baserunners, yet he doesn't allow them score very often.

I have not switched my argument once. When I made my original point, I used his career WHIP because I simply looked up his player bio on ESPN.com and went off that.

When you mentioned that his first two years included significantly higher WHIPs, I looked at the 2011 stats and showed he was allowing baserunners to reach on a regular basis, but not allowing them to score (his WHIP was 40th among relievers with at least 50 IP, if you're really curious). I presented the fact that he allowed multiple baserunners in 24 of 66 IP last year, yet allowed a run to score in only seven of those situations. That solidly backs my point that he often allowed baserunners yet didn't often allow them to score.

I included the stat that he had allowed at least one baserunner in 41 of 66 IP (62 percent of the time), and yet only had a 1.08 ERA, again backing the notion that he is comfortable pitching with runners on base.

Feel free to actually present some statistical evidence that counters these points (OK, besides tonight's debacle :D ).

I'll grant you that you did not say he was among the best relievers in the game, but that his WHIP was better than many of them last year (of course, he was one of the best relievers in the game last year, but that's a different argument).

Well, I'd assume Valencia will play in AAA so technically Gardenhire was telling the truth :D

Every a.m., I wake up and wonder: Who is oop in some endless argument with, with long blocks of quoted text and insults. Every morning, I wake up to a PM that says, "oop and (fill in the blank) are ruining the baseball thread."

There are a handful of people here who just don't get when it is time to move on and they bog everything down and make it massively unenjoyable for the rest of us. I sure hope those people learn real, real soon.

    Quite exhausting.

Not as exhausting as watching Danny Espinosa strike out over and over again. If he's in the lineup again tonight, I will have serious doubts about Davey Johnson's ability to make rational decisions as a human being. Might also free up a few hours for me tonight.

Nice Jerry Crasnick piece on Matt Wieters:

You weren't confident when he came up with the bases loaded? Knowing he was going to *** well, he did indeed strikeout.

I was on record in 2010 as declaring Espinosa the 2011 rookie of the year. Great in the field, good power. I still think he can be a productive player. But he needs to be in AAA for a while and figure out what's wrong. This is not the year for the Nats to have people figuring it out on the job and their offense has enough problems.

When are the Pirates going to move McCutcheon? THAT is the CF I'd love to see end up in DC.

Anybody know how many times David Robertson loaded the bases in 2011? Had he even done it at all this year before the last two appearances?

The Pirates signed him to a six-year, $51.5 million contract extension in March, so I'm guessing not soon.
