Let's see how his bullpen is holding up come September before we give him the win on that. That is very early to remove a guy with a pitch count in the 70s.

And haven't gotten a hit since. Now 3-1 in the sixth.

EDIT: Two more homers in the 7th, so now it's 6-1.

13 strikeouts in six innings pitched for Strasburg.

Jays are up 5-1 on the shittastic Twins after three. No hard-hit balls, Twins play D like my kid's team: Yunel Escobar scores from second on a fielder's choice, Bret Lawrie takes two bases on a passed ball that squirted maybe 10 feet from catcher Ryan Doumit.

Now that I'm looking at the box score, Billingsley gave up 7 hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts in 85 pitches.
Four relievers blanked the Giants on two hits the last five innings -- one pitched 2 innings, three other 1 inning each. Day off today. I doubt anybody was overworked this night.
This win goes to Mattingly regardless of what happens in September. You gotta win the game you're playing.

Did you see that Pop Fly, Huggy? Cause Doumit sure as hell didn't.

Even my kid's team wouldn't fuck that play up that badly. Doumit looks like he has never played behind the plate before.

    And it looked nasty, too.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I see your point, but decisions like that can lead to a burned out bullpen, which could come back to bite the Dodgers in the ass later.

Angels and Nationals talking about a deal that would send Peter Bourjos to Washington. I know his numbers look bad so far this season, but he was impressive late in 2011 and would give them a quality outfielder.

I know we've got Angels and Nationals fans here. What do y'all think?
