Another day, another home run for Hamilton.

Not that it means anything on the 12th of May, but even without the four-homer game, Hamilton would be on pace for 69 home runs.

    AL LEADERS

    BA
    1. Josh Hamilton .407
    2. Derek Jeter .372

    HR
    1. Josh Hamilton 17 (now 18)
2 (tie). Dunn, Encarnacion, Granderson 11

    RBI
    1. Josh Hamilton 40 (now 41)
    2. Edwin Encarnacion 29

As early as it is, those are some mighty large Triple Crown margins there.

Noted. But it's also the premier hitter in the league, someone who will slow down from where he is now but will continue to hit at league-best level, and he has more than a week's cushion if he does slump.

There have been a few semi-serious runs at the Triple Crown -- I remember Sheffield one year with the Padres and of course Kemp last year -- but I'd be surprised if any of them ever had a substantial lead in all three categories at any one point.

Of course, he does get injured a lot.

Might be one of those crazy, who-woulda-thunk-it type years.

    Triple Crown (or two)
    Someone hits .400
    Ton of perfect games/no-hitters
    Nats win the NL East.

    Jeez.

Espinosa with another HR. And another "Fuck you, Sonner!" look as he rounded the bases.

    I can live with that.

Especially since Jetes is gonna hit .500 anyway [/manky]

Maybe all he needed was a good bashing by SportsJournalists.com. :)

Any word on Wilson Ramos? I didn't see it, but I read that the injury looked like a bad one.

Not yet. But it won't be good.

    PUUUUUDDDDGE!!!!

Apparently, a minor leaguer, Maldonaldo, will back up Flores. Moddy's boy get his shot to be the everyday catcher. Let's see what he's got. I'm optimistic.
